Documentation would be important to me. The CofA (although can be ordered from Porsche). Also the documentation of the engine swap. Maintenance records including oil changes. Other due diligence including checking Carfax, and a PPI to check for any collision damage, any signs of leaks etc.

Are there really that many (any) counterfeit GT3s out there where a certificate of authenticity s needed? It seems like it would be a monumental task to fake a GT car. There are so many differences that it would be far simpler and cheaper just to purchase one rather than fake one and pass it off as real.

IMO the worse year ever. Prices already declining on the .1's and the 14 is the worst of all. You should be able to get it for well under MSRP And if you wait for the .2 you will get even a better deal. I bet these drop to 20% below MSRP in the next 6 months.

If you really want a .1 get a 16.

Wasn't suggesting the CofA to prove the car's authenticity- can tell that from the VIN. It is just a part of the car's documentation. I would also want the monroney. Not saying that for me it would be a dealbreaker necessarily if these were not available. A prospective purchaser of a 991.1 GT3 should also research the cam/ finger follower wear issue to be fully informed. Also agree the 14s and to some degree 15/16s will have downward price pressure as the .2 deliveries ramp up. Just IMO.

I owned a 2014, branded title car. There are phenomenal deals to be had on the 2014 cars. It just depends on your patience, plans for the car, etc. I did very well in it - didn't lose much at all during my ownership.

The biggest thing to know about 2014 is whether it was a buy-back (therefore branded) and verify the warranty end date is extended by a year (they all were I believe).

I agree with the comment above that now is probably not the time to buy. There should be deals to be had as people trade .1 GT3 in on new deliveries.

If you're serious about buying you can PM me and I'll answer questions about the engine swap, branded title, prices I saw, paid and then got on trade.

Good luck!

Haha bad idea... if you don't get up close and personal, you can't feel the temperature to see if the engine is on fire yet.

OK, for those 2014s that have either had their engine replaced (a second time) or have gotten the DLC cams/heads, why wouldn't that be as good a car as any 2015 or 2016 of the same mileage? From the poll, it seems like 1 in 6 cars - of all years, with the 9A1, have had the valve train wear problem.

Scott, who's 2014 got shiny new heads at it's 36k service...

Wait until the .2's start arriving. You will have many to chose from. Good luck.
