So far the 919s in LMP1 have been way off the pace set by Toyota. Hope they're sandbagging.

Saw that. I would think they would temper their enthusiasm given how they imploded last year with 2 minutes left.....

Well, they are very hopeful this year with the new Prius they've built. I hope Porsche proves them wrong!

It's about endurance not laptime

The RSR is the best sounding car in the entire field. The worst could be the 488

LMP1 is bonkers. Porsche is grumbling that Toyota is using illegal diffuser stuff in their cars. Toyota just has a bunch more top end power down the straights and VMax about 15km/h higher.

LMP2 is bananas fast. They're doing times closes enough to the old Audi LMP1 cars that it is almost comical.

I'd like to see Ford to do well for nostalgia sake. Agree about the RSR sound.

Remember what the car does in qualifying doesn't mean it will survive the race. The only way to win is to finish the race. I'm curious to see how this race goes - last year was pure heart break for Toyota.

Personally, I'm more interested in the GTE Am series.

Overall, Porsche will win the marketing but lose the race. They'll post a pic of a 1, 2, 3 on various web sites - podium finish for Porsche (but it will be in the Cup series lol)
