Has anyone installed the rear tie downs on a 991 GT3? I had the car on a lift and I'm not sure exactly which bolt I'm supposed to remove to mount the tie down. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Mike here is a screenshot that might help, you will want to remove these 2 bolts by the rear cross-member to mount the rear tie downs.

A little bit OT but I have bought Rennline Tie Downs, one for the front of my 991 GT3 RS and one for the rear. The big problem is that for the ROW cars, the rear Tie Down is to short becouse the license plate is still mounted. Is it possible to do one that is somewhere between the short and the long one?

I just want to clarify those are the Tow Hooks pictured above and not tie downs and should be used for pulling in a straight line only. That being said for the ROW cars the rear Tow Hook is designed to be mounted vertically as opposed to the horizontal position on the US spec rear bumpers. To install you will want to install the screw first, and add the hook after.

Sorry for my english - Tow Hook is what we are talking about.

I can take a picture tomorrow but if I install my screw first, it is not space enough to fit the hook becouse the screw is going to long inside the bumper - and use all threads.

So if Rennline can produce a screw that are someway between todays long and short screv it will fit perfectly to ROW cars.

This is important. 30NM and then 90 degrees. I replaced mine with new.

Wow, sure seemed tighter than that when loosening. What manual are you reading from? Thanks for the replies.

That 90 degree additional turn adds quite a bit. This is from factory documentation.

Very welcome. Also make sure they sit flush and don't hit the cross member while you tighten them on.
