I have it on my .1, and I'm getting it on my .2. Absolutely critical in SW Ontario due to speed bumps, potholes, and steep parking garages are common. It goes up quickly, and comes down automatically as you get back to speed if you forget to put it down.

lets just hope the 991 system is more reliable than that on the 997's...

I hope the default position (if broken) is Down. Or hope there is a manual override to lower it...

failure mode on the 7's is usually it wont go up (at all) or will not fully deploy such that the car indicates "LIFT" ... if the car does partially raise, the system
automatically drops it around 28mph or so...

I *really* hope that the 991 mechanism is different from the 7's ... which is a PoS and expensive to replace if not under warranty (which pretty much all of them are or were)

having said that, and despite the 7.2's replaceable lower lip, I personally would not spec a GT3 w/o the FAL system...

I have it and use the lift multiple times a day during my daily commute. Still managed to scrape front lip even with lift engaged. It's imperative for me.

I think this is one of those, better have and not need it rather than need it and not have it. There are some brutal unexpected speed bumps in some parking lots and there's no going around them.
My car is lowered to the lowest height on OEM coilovers. The lift is completely unnecessary if you are used to driving a lowered car. Most people approach at a 90 degree angle that you just can't do in a car like this. Axle lift is not the worst thing in the world to have, but I don't think I'll get it again.

I have it on my '15 and will order on my '18. It makes life just a little bit easier!

Agree. I go to a car & coffee and watch how many just pull straight out of a kinda steep exit.

I never had issue with the 991.1, like I did with the 997.2. My 997 would work when it wanted too. The 991 system operates faster and always works.

You live in FL, isn't that the flattest state? J/K

With the 911 GTS I had, if the front doesn't clear at an angle I can at least back into a steep driveway. However, the new GT3 has the 911R lower diffuser so can't do the back in method. That's why I gave in and ordered it with the lift.

I don't know how one can get by without it, unless you park your car on a track or enjoy the back-and-forth angle approach that's tiresome and slow.

Had it on my 991.1 and getting it on 991.2 GT3. I live in area with hills, lumpy roads, and steep parking lots. I'd rather pay the lift $ vs. replacement lip part $.

Whether you need it or not, for resale it's a no brained. To many buyers, the lifter is essential and the lack of one is a deal breaker. To other buyers, though not essential it's not a deal breaker if the car is equipped with a lifter.

I couldn't buy a GT car without it. My driveway is perfectly flat but the gutter into the street is so big that I can't clear that even at a sharp angle.

I used it for driveways and also for an extended period on a pot-holed minimum maintenance gravel road (<25mph).

I had it on my .1 and will spec it for the .2 as well. Like a pistol, you don't need it often, but when you do the need is real.
