Default Teaser pics of Dundon's 997/991 GT3 321 Stainless Center Muffler

Anyone that tracks a GT3 knows that the center mufflers both steel and Ti versions are essentially made of paper. They all split, crack and fall apart. We wanted to make it better:
  • Redesign it so it's more robust and can take track use for a lifetime without splitting.
  • Make a version that is quieter for our dB restricted track buddies(as well as a version that is as loud or louder than stock)
  • Flows more air so that some of our pending "big builds" aren't limited by the center muffler
  • Make it from 321SS (and then possibly Ti if there is interest).

Here's the 3d render in Solidworks

Here's the prototypes going together just today...

We plan on putting 4-5 together, some quiet some loud, etc and beating on them with beta testers around the country. Once we're satisfied we'll put an intro price up and get these things out in the wild!

Would be nice to see some competition to Akra Ti full system.
Catted to pass emissions in EU, light and robust.
If well priced I foresee great success.

Jaime: Nice work! Questions:
1. Weight in stainless and anticipated guesstimated cost?
2. Weight and anticipated guesstimated cost in Ti?
3. Will sound be comparable to CMS or GMG center bypass on loud?
4. Availability time frame?

I really like the OEM look!

Looks good Jamie. I am sure to be in the minority but I would prefer a large single outlet because, better flow.

Could have used this two weeks ago
Is the quiet version more restrictive/less power?
I could use it for Lime Rock but don't really want to give up power

1. 321 GT3 Muffler is 23lbs, same as the OEM one, even though the tubing is larger has packing and is built as a tank. Targeting pricing $3800 retail, $3500 intro/Group Buy.
2. Ti OEM muffler is 12-13lbs, we expect ours to be about the same. Target pricing is $7500 and intro/GB pricing is $6800
3. The "loud" version will just have more volume. Sound is dependent on the headers, etc... in front of the muffler as well. Quiet version same, tone is similar, just less volume.
4. We're finishing the first one this week to test on our 991, the other 4 will be a week or to more, waiting for the tooling to show up. After that all the parts are pretty quick to get here so 3-4 weeks after the Intro/GB closes.

Quiet version is flows more than stock and uses a different strategy for sound energy reduction than the OEM muffler. We've tested the different strategy already in a stock shell and saw 10dB reduction, when combined with turnaways we were able to get to 12-15dB...

Our tooling is inbound so we can finish the first few prototypes, get some dyno and dB numbers and get one on my 991 GT3 and customers 997 GT3RS to beat on. Once we get them on the cars we'll start with a preorder list!

Akrapovic slip-on is around 5400USD without discount. Good luck!

Put me on your list if you're looking for a 997.1 GT3 beta tester. My side muffler delete has already blown my OEM center muffler.
