Full leather interior 991.2 GT3

I guess most people prefer full and extended leather.
Is it just me who thinks a simple white exterior and spartan standard black interior (with buckets) can also have its own appropriate minimalist appeal in an otherwise raw sports car? I also think the alcantara is perfect the way it is.

In the 80's, the G series cars looked good without the need for extra leather and even my last 993 looked fine. But I ordered full leather on 3 different 997s as well as my 991.2. The dash and door caps of the modern 911s are simply grim without the leather upgrade. Interesting that some less expensive brands without leather seem to look fine, but a new 911 without it looks like something assembled at a correctional faculty. No offense to any Rennlisters who may currently be serving time.

This is the second time someone has written this, how can leather be lighter?
They glue the leather to the vinyl dashboard, so unless it's made of He, it adds weight.
I'd prefer a non CXX option of black stitching for the dashboard and upper doors, while keeping the color stitching for the lower doors and seats, I think mooty ordered his RS that way.

Don't get alcantara.
The Alcantars are an endangered species. Don't let another die to upholster your GT3.

In the configurator leather is $3,480 with grey stitching, and an additional $1,500 to change to red.
The description includes `upper section of door panels'.
Where do you see a $1,500 door leather option?

To each his own, however IMHO the plastic dash looks terrible on any Porsche except a cayman/boxster.
For my .2 GT3 I will be getting the leather interior plus seat backs in leather and extended dash, all with red stitching.
To me that is the "full" leather interior. The regular full leather option is half-*** IMHO.
Looks great on my .1 GT3 and I expect the same on my .2 GT3.

It did seem to reflect a bit in a GT3 I sat in with EXTENDED leather and guard red stitching, because all that stitching is close to the bottom of the windshield. But with regular full leather, that back part of the dash is still plastic, so it's no problem. Wouldn't worry about this as a reason to get or not get leather.

If one orders the red/black leather interior, the $1500 door leather/alcantara plus red stitching becomes a mandatory option. I tried to not order it, and the configurator then made me take off the $3800 leather interior option, When I asked my salesperson, he confirmed that in such a case, the two packages must be ordered together.
