This looks so awesome. I wish I was a rider. Probably not targeted to noobs. How fit would you have to be to do smth like this?
you want to check these guys out for biking/hiking/adventure tours https://www.backroads.com. My wife took her then 75 years old dad on a biking tour in Vermont a few years ago... they have different levels of difficulty/experience within each group and they make sure you have the support you need. So, for example, experienced bikers would take ride with one guide through different routes...let’s say you are looking for a more easy route, they would offer that too...
I ride everything short of lift-served on mine and could do that as well if I avoided the drops and really wanted to stretch it. Enduro bikes are great for going downhill but the thought of pedaling a 30lb rig uphill is anathema to this weight weenie. My Large EVO is under 22lbs (though I did bin the dropper post).
I'm as a big a luddite as most, rode a 20lb plastic HT for years longer than most of my friends and for all but the rowdiest of trails a 30 lb rig makes no sense, but fortunately, or unfortunately depending on your perspective, I'm blessed with a few extremely rowdy descents that were terrifying at best on the HT and somewhat anxiety producing on the 120mm trailbike. The big Yeti is another experience, dare I say different sport, that stuff is just so much fun--and easy--on it that I got hooked. I also trained/raced endurance events two years in a row and I bought the Yeti when I had the best fitness of my life and didn't mind drilling that sled up steep grades. Gravity and time are conspiring against that sort of activity though, lol.
CR6ZZ Avons? Have you had a chance to test them out? I am running these on my long bonnet in original RS size which is very skinny by todays standards. 15" 185 on the front and 215 on the back. Enough grip on a 2000lb car for the road..
