re: Bob Rassa / 'Street Talk' & Panorama
Didn't know if anyone has posted this, but in the Street Talk
section, pg. 20, May, 2017 issue of Panorama (which I just
received today) was this short blurb.
Sorry, if this was already known....I mean the production numbers.
I've read accurate rumors about the intro of the 991.2GT3RS.

'Street Talk' is a monthly feature of Panorama, the official
magazine of the Porsche Club of America. It is authored
& 'compiled' by veteran PCA member Bob Rassa. If these
claims (of a manual option & of a 300/400 total production
worldwide) turn out NOT to be accurate, it would not be the
first time! Just two months ago, in the March 2017 issue of
Panorama:
The magazine published a letter from 'yours truly' that
corrected something Bob Rassa had published in his
'Street Talk' section of Panorama back in the January
2017 issue:
Here is what my 'Letter to the Editor' said, exactly as
it appears on page 14 of the March 2017 edition of
Panorama:
***
We will follow up & report back just how accurate
his ramblings were on the .2 991 gt3 RS regarding
the manual option and the estimated 300/400 total
production worldwide.

991.2 GT3 has Euro 6b emmision rule allowance which ends 31st of august 2018. After that date there will be no allowance to bring it as a new car to the market in Europe. So production time of 991.2 GT3 will be probably until July 2018. AP said they can do about 4.000x GT cars in 12 months, so this fits to the article in the Panorama magazine.

I always assumed the RS will be out in Geneva 2018, I'm not holding my breathe for it to debut in 2017.

Can you explain how you think what you posted actually
"fits to the article in the Panorama magazine" below:
Rassa claims that only 300/400 .2 991 gt3 RS will
be built. You claim production of the .2 991 gt3
will terminate in July of 2018. And the emission
rule allowance, which I assume you believe is for
both the .2 991 gt3 & the .2 991 gt3 RS, will expire
on 8/31/2018. How does that square with what
was reported in Panorama? If they need to limit
the .2 991 gt3/gt3 RS due to a production end
deadline due to expiring emissions 'allowance',
I would think PAG would gladly trade lower gt3
output for greater gt3 RS output. That is a more
important model for the brand. And one with a
bigger profit margin!
Any source & link to what you are reporting would
be greatly appreciated.

Three Wheelin'
Pano blurb is nonsense. Confused GT3RS with GT2RS. There are other errors in the section as well. Editiorial review is a forgotten art in almost all quarters of "journalism" these days.

He mixed up gt2rs that will be launched in frankfurt. Limited to 300-400 is probably also incorrect.
