Heart breaking news. Terrible. I was a big World Super Bike fan. He is an amazing talent and from what I read a great guy.
Amazing how dangerous bicycle cycle riding can be but seemingly innocuous.
My prayers are with him.

Latest RRW article states his father Earl confirms he is on life support. If true, he is most likely clinically dead. I'm gutted...

a buddy of mine on the NorCal Ducati forum just received a message from his dad that he actually passed away already.
not that it makes a difference as severe brain damage is not that different from brain dead, especially when a patient is on life support.
it's really sad.. most times when people I don't know die, i dont' think about it much. but for some reason hearing about Nicky Hayden.. I can't stop thinking about it. life is precious.

Just read the news that he passed last night. So incredibly sad. Life is so unfair sometimes. So many good people leave this earth too soon. I feel so sorry for his family.

Raced wheel to wheel at over 200 MPH with the worlds best for the majority of his life, only to be killed cycling on a rural Italian road. Life's too short. Do what you love. RIP NH69

Truly very sad..he will always be remembered. This is very reminiscent of what happened to Schumacher. It is crazy when you think about the lifestyle they lived, the level of risk they experienced on an almost daily basis..and then to pass from a recreational activity....just crazy. I was Skiing in the valley over form Shumi in France the day he had his accident, I think about it all the time. Also, I ride a bicycle in NYC all the time...just makes you think..
RIP.
