Welcome to last week drama queen.

My bad!

Never mind, I'm sure you can scurry off to another thread to make the same comments over and over again.

I assume I am going to meet everyone here in person at some point, and that helps me consider my words more carefully. How would you feel chatting with someone over drinks, only to learn they owned an R?

I am thinking it might be a bit awkward.

Carlos993 05-16-2017 07:16 PM

One other thing to consider - in a few countries, MSRP for an R is close to, or in excess of, U.S. $500K. So all those buyers are idiots? Some car enthusiast simply have no choice but to pay Porsche, the dealer, and the government. Don't see how a sweeping statement like that can be constructive.

Nick 05-16-2017 07:37 PM

Come on guys, we all know what he was referring to. The R selling for $200,000 is one thing (personally I don't think its worth that) but to pay $4-500,000 when you can have a GT3 for $150,000?

Seriously, how many would choose the R? Other than it being a limited production model, it really doesn't offer any more of a driving experience than the GT3.

rosenbergendo 05-16-2017 07:39 PM

Wasn't being derogatory. Just agreeing with a respected journo.

I hear yea, but a lot of these forum tough guys are the ones at cars & coffee sitting in the corner by themselves afraid to strike up a conversation with anyone in person. Take away the keyboard, so goes with it the machismo.

That's quite generalization concerning those that participate on this forum. If you have a problem address it. It sounds like you're the one that sits in the corner.:nono:

^ and of course sometimes an enthusiast goes to C&C to admire other cars and enjoy exotic coffee, not necessarily to chat up a storm.

Maybe I did, such actions are not shared publicly.

I'm one of the organizers standing out front welcoming people and helping them park.

Stop by this Saturday, 7:30AM is usually when I arrive. I'll buy you a cup of coffee.

The 911R is a special car - I don't think there's any question about it. I'm hoping to get close with a 991.2 GT3 manual with wing delete.
