Default 991 GT3RS Insurance cost

I am looking at a stated value (250k) policy in AZ and coming back with 5k plus a year quotes. What are you guys seeing for insurance coverage rates and carriers?

It depends on where you live, do you have a garage, how many cars you insure, how old you are, what your driving record is like, how many sports cars you have owned in the past and your credit score. Someone else's cost is meaningless.

True, but 5K per year is too high, unless he's a 17 year old with 3 tickets and bad credit

Yes I get all that, just looking to see what averages are. 5k is exceedingly high and no I am not a kid with poor credit or bad driving. I have owned many other high end cars and never been quoted this much so i am trying to see if the GT3RS is abnormal.

I think my raw premium in NY is around $5k, but after all the discounts it comes down to something like $1800. Biggest discount is the surplus car discount.

The 4 cars on my policy total less than $5k per year for coverage in Atlanta. I don't remember the details on the policy but the 997 and 991 RS are about the same price. And I believe they are around $1400 per year for a $250K stated value policy

You make a good point that I am not considering. I am trying to get single car coverage as this will be covered at my home in AZ and my other cars are at my home in CA so I am sure that would make a difference. My current carrier wont even cover it for stated value so that isn't even an option. Thanks

Also depends on your insurance provider and the type of coverage. State Farm, Chubb, Geico, Farmers, etc. all have variances in the fine print. For example, my insurance covers track time, OEM parts and covers the entire value of the car whereas others differ.

What provider allows you to bake track insurance into the policy? I want to switch from State Farm since they jacked up my rates after I told them to stop bugging me about my mileage all the time.

Try Farmers. Again, coverage may differ state to state. I used to have State Farm and they did not cover track time. Farmers, is a bit more expensive ($1950 /year for a $170k GT3 with basically all discounts applied) but you get what you pay for. Heck, they would even pay for a new Tesla Solar roof on my homeowners once another hail storm comes through

I used a broker for utilities during my last house move (water, electric, internet, alarm, etc.) but I've never used one for insurance.
