991 GT3RS Insurance cost
#31
Ended p with Chubb stated value 3700 per year. I just don't get it though as my last Ferrari was half that for a similar value and they can explain why other than that is what their rate is for that car. It may have to do with the amount of claims on these versus other high end cars. I remember wen i had the Ferrari it was actually lower than a Roush Mustang I had because of that. Who knows? Either way, I guess when you spend that much money on a car you shouldn't bitch about the insurance but was just trying to see if these rates were normal as it is my first RS. Thanks

Wow, that's nuts. I'm gonna make sure that I get a quote before I buy any GT3. No way would I pay $300 a month just to insure a car. And one that I'm not even daily driving.

Got a quote on a 991.1 GT3 RS yesterday from my State farm agent: right at $1400/year, or about $550 more than my '15 Z06. I was very pleasantly surprised as I thought it would be a lot more than that.
Now I've just got to think about finding one! lol

Yeah For 100/300 .....

Yes look at the coverage closely. My first quote was about 1400 but when I challenged the replacement value they said it was based on a book value of 94k even though they had the correct VIN. Low liability limits as well.

I hope my posts prevents that scenario.

Insurance companies are not worried about replacement value. They will gladly write a check for 100k at that price and they are done. Then what? Where is your comfort level? I promise you a lawyer seeing you in that car will go for your assets and your house if it all goes wrong.
I hope my posts prevents that scenario.

Yes, I assure you I do. You don't have the option to extend your liability umbrella to your UU coverage in your state? Let me translate- whatever you have in liability extends to uninsured and underinsured so where's the problem? And as regards property damage, you always have the option of using your own collision for your car if the UU is not sufficient to cover that loss. Even if you live in astate where you cannot extend umbrella to UU, you can have your liability level = your UU level. Where is the scary exposure you are losing sleep over? Let me guess, you have low deductibles too?
Liability covers you for at fault claims too, what are you talking about?

Let me be clear again. Most umbrella policies our liability only and other words only if you're at fault. Most umbrella policies are cheap as hell and you buy $1 million umbrellas for 500$ / yr thinking you're covered.
I'll give you an example. I had a client that got hit rollover in a ditch and he was disabled. 25 years of State Farm 100 300 and $1 million umbrella but in the policy. But .., There was a disclaimer of liability only, as let's face it you can't get $1 million for the coverage for $500 a year to cover everything. He was devastated by the loss. And by the fact that the 1 million didn't cover his loss.
So I suggest you check your policy sir as I have litigated these cases for 20 years. Of course you have the option, but most of you have no idea what policy you have it I'm just trying to help all of you.
