Default PTS 991.2 GT3: worth itt?

Need some perspective here. My dealer has an upcoming slot for me to order a manual PTS 991.2 GT3. It would be my weekend/occasional track car and share the garage with my 458 Speciale.

BUT in order to swing it I may need to sell both my GT4 AND my one owner Ocean Blue 993 C2. I am having trouble with the latter - I have a real soft spot for that car, love it.

Want the GT3 as I miss having a bonkers motor in my Porsche after I sold my green 997 GT3 RS a few years ago 😔. Hoping the new GT3 manual will bring back some of that feeling.

Thoughts/advice? Thanks in advance.....

If you love the C2 (and one owner is amazing), I'd either figure out a way to keep that or I probably wouldn't do the GT3.

You're telling us that because of a $7k option, you'll have to sell 2 cars? And based on your logic, without PTS you can keep everything? .........

Exactly what I'm having a problem understanding. Anyhow, I would keep the 993.

I think he means to buy the .2 GT3 in general. Don't think PTS $$ has anything to do with it.

The 993 sale would be a tough one if it's as good as it sounds.

Keep the 993...doesn't sound like you're lacking for weekend fun cars.

To clear things up, yeah PTS only makes the new car more tempting. Basically the 2 for 1 car is close to an even swap, so overall cost neutral.

Have 2 kids in private college so getting or keeping them all is not an option.

I know "first world problems".but I figure this board might be the best place to help sort out my thoughts.....

Once the 993 is gone it is gone. Can always pick up a 991.2 GT3 used down the road if you want although you will getting to spec it. Good luck with your decision

Giving up GT4 and 993 for 991.2 I wouldn't do.

Will even cost you more $$ to do so. Especially in long run. You'll regret losing the 993 at some point. Almost always happens.

You're sitting well with those two cars in my opinion. Fun wise and financially wise at this point.

Anyway, I can't make that decision for you. My personal opinions.

I'd consider something after kids graduate (since you mentioned it).

991.2 will be around a while. Step back and look at the big picture after avoiding the forum for a day. Will make more sense. The forums distort reality sometimes. Trust me, nobody is making money by buying cars here.

Now if you have money to burn, keep buying cars. Not many are in that position though where $200K is just a night in Vegas.

I'm confused by all these posts saying they have a PTS allocation. I am working with Exclusive on my build and they were very adamant just a few days ago that no dates have been confirmed for PTS. Only that Q4 is possible time frame. If true then congrats! I've been trying to get one for years without any luck.

If you own a 458 Speciale why bother with a GT3? Similar cars except for MT. You have several cars that are MT. Not sure why you are conflicted.

^this
I am told that even the 918/VIP clients that have asked for PTS do not have a V200 order which shows PTS accepted.
OP, If you decide to go the 991.2 route, recommend not selling the 993 until you have an accepted PTS V200 order. GL, and enjoy your Speciale!

Sold your Viper Green 997 RS!! Whoops.

A couple of great posts to ponder over. I would concur with the notion of staying away from the forum for 24 hours to reach an educated decision. Paranoia levels should dissipate to normal levels!!!!

The 1 owner 993 C2 will become a bit of a unicorn in time and develop a "never can be replaced status".

2nd Gen 991's will be freely available soon enough.

Your choice but if you can hang on to the ocean blue C2 I would.

Look where the viper green RS's ended up. In the UK the paint carried a 50K sterling premium.
