Quite a few people think i'm crazy for disassembling a 900 mile brand new RS, that being said here is the 1 of 1 worldwide manual RS build on here for all to see. I don't like that Porsche took the manual option away from us GT car owners only to put it back into a limited numbered car and play games with allocations. I own a 997.1RS & 997.2RS as well as a 997TT all in manual and personally think a manual option is the only option these cars should have. I don't want this to turn into a "PDK" is faster thread, I could personally care less about 10ths of seconds here and there. I am very well aware that the pdk is an amazing transmission and it shifts faster than lighting, I really liked it on my 991.1gt3 but on the RS we should have the option. That being said i am in the process of completing a full Manual conversion, it's about 3 weeks out from completion. I will post pics and updates as soon as they come in, with a video to follow once the car is buttoned up and ready. I hope this generates enough interest and buzz in the car world to shake some sense into Porsche to offer us the option. To all the RS owners, keep your cars, this conversion is possible!

Can't wait to see how this goes. So many questions... What gearbox are you using? How are you handling the software? Changes required to the diff?

Using the 911R transmission I assume. I do think the software side of this could get interesting.

I once contemplated doing this for a C63 AMG, but there were too many other things that needed to be fixed on that platform to make it worth the effort (also no obvious donor transmission).

my Porsche dealer seems to be cool with the idea, im sure anything trans related wont get touched but being a manual the usual things to go a wear items anyways. Everything being put into the build is a brand new Porsche part with the exception of some cosmetic goodies.

This may be an obvious question, but why not just get a manual .2 GT3? It's as fast or faster than the .1 RS based on everything we've seen so far, and you can track/drive the .2 GT3 hard with worrying about what happens if you need warranty repairs.

yes sir, 911R and a bunch of miscellaneous Porsche goodies. thanks for the love, waited over 6 months of ordering parts, ironing out the details with the shop doing the work (will absolutely plug their name) once everything is running, you never know until it fires up if it works. wouldn't want to tarnish their name before posting. I am 99% confident we've nailed it. Thanks again
