This may be an obvious question, but why not just get a manual .2 GT3? It's as fast or faster than the .1 RS based on everything we've seen so far, and you can track/drive the .2 GT3 hard with worrying about what happens if you need warranty repairs.
Sorry. I guess sarcasm doesn't translate through the interwebs.

Need a sarcasm emoticon.

I asked myself the same thing and so did the shop doing it, I have an allocation for a october build manual .2gt3 but an RS is a RS, I am a fan of the RS cars from day one and with what the dealers want over sticker for the .2 I might end up passing on it if they dont re-think they're gouging. I figured with the little depreciation 991.rs have seen plus the cost of the new car i'd rather put the money into having a unique RS build that would kind of set the path for others who would like to do the same. As for the warranty part.. kinda just said f it.

Thanks , gearbox (911R) lwfw, the diff gets replaced from a E-diff to a mechanical diff in the R trans. software i will get back to you on , shop doing it keeps this part for themselves. i will respect their wishes.

What you're doing is ***** out courageous! This is something I could only dream of when the 991.1 GT3 came out. It was like a fantasy...I was day dreaming...the " what if " sort of thing. AND YOU'RE ACTUALLY DOING IT!!! WOW WOW WOW!!!
In a sea of "allocation threads ", " value threads " ,this is like a breath of fresh air! People have long forgotten this forum is part of the TECHNICAL DISCUSSION FORUMS!!!
Having a pretty good idea what this operation involves makes it even more impressive to me!
Good luck sir,I honestly bow to you!

last pic for the night. I hope the rennlist members understand Porsche absolutely scans these forums, maybe if people want a manual option for not only the gt3/rs cars, imagine a new Turbo S with a manual, etc... generate enough interest and they have to listen. share, thanks.

Because RS is RS.

I'm deeply in love and lust with the OP, and I've never even met her. finally a thread worth watching.. please tell us more about what is involved in this fantastic project, I'm sure this will spawn many copies.

As someone who is not afraid of undertaking stupid expensive and unnecessarily complex custom projects (I had to engineer and prototype this front end on a custom bike I'm building)... your project is giving me the itch to go out to buy a used RS and do the same thing.

Can't wait to see your progress... every magazine and YouTube channel is going to want to cover your car.

Wow, now that is one heck of an undertaking! Congratulations on taking on this project and big hand clap for the shop doing the work for being brave enough to do it. I really hope it goes without any major hiccups. Props to you!
