Not that he hasn't reversed course on occasion, but AP has promised all RS cars will be PDK-S..

Why is that so? I personally wouldn't care what else is offered. If I were to be born again and love pdk, they could be offering triptronic and manual in the same time,I wouldn't care as long as I get mine...

I have an honest/ignorant question since I'm not a Porsche history aficionado. Hell, my first Porsche was a 991 GT3.

For all the previous generation GT models such as the 997 generation. Between the base GT3 models versus RS models, were there significant dimensional differences between the two like the 991 models? Such as the 991 RS having the turbo wide body, side induction scoops, bigger wheels and tires, front fender gills, aero, weight savings etc?

I know the wings were always bigger on the RS models versus the regular GT3. That and their color schemes were more bold etc. I remember seeing an RS for the first time because it stood out so much with it's grey paint, red wheels, red RS logo, etc. Just couldn't tell if it was a physically larger/wider car besides just the bigger wing and paint jobs.

I think 997.1 RS was the first widebody (non-RS was narrow like C2).

I think 991.1 GT3 was first widebody non-RS (same as C4) and 991.1 RS was first extra-wide (same as Turbo).

996 GT3 and GT3 RS were same dimensions as 996 Carrera.

Thank you for answering that! That makes more sense in my visual memory of it being hard for me to differentiate physical differences between the GT models.

You're right.
There should be a choice even if I opinion that PDKS and Turbos are a better fit for the size and my purpose of RS.

I should have said for me..

Funny. GT4 is a ridiculously involving road car IMO. Sold mine and miss it. Driver involvement and sheer fun is off the charts. AP's team did an amazing job with that car.
