Such a angry crowd here for RS...haters going to hate.
I don't hate the RS. I own one. I am a little less pollyannaish than you...

The 991.1 RS is actually called the GT3, and the 991.2 GT3 is called the RS. The MSRP for the "new" RS is about $40K more. What will you purchase?
Id take the RS.

GT3 is special but RS is more special.
Once you've gone RS you can never go back.

I know, I cant afford it but youre right! That last one I really fuked up.

I am getting a 991.2 GT3 as well, and it will be very interesting to compare the two cars. My gut tells me that the 991.2 GT3 will be equal to or better than the RS.

Yup! I can only spend my money once so RS.

in reality, 991 rs is significantly greater in numbers made and sold than 991.1 regular gt3... first time in PAG history this is the case

1.2 gt3 may be marginally quicker than 1.1 rs but less than 10% of owners of these cars can drive them well enough to extract the difference in performance... at the end of the day, 1.1 rs still has big advantage in grip/downforce so in most applications it will outperform 1.2 gt3

back again to 'it is all in what owners/buyers choose to believe', reality/practicalities are immaterial... nothing more, nothing less

this is no different than how we men often criticise vain women who try to out-do each other with the $5,000 purses and designer leggings
Purple bags are the next big thing.
Chanels' keep their value pretty good.

Exactly. Mine is MSRP by September if anyone wants it.

Like Trakcar said

997.2gt3 was "better" than 997.1rs.
Same thing seems to happen here but I want to drive and make my own opinion before saying anything.
This one is actually the first one I would keep if I could afford it.
Make it street only after warranty, dump the E63. They ride the same ;-)
Maybe trade for one with Sofa's..

no news here. Next one always better. debating VERY hard to let go of my allocation and wait for RS. Like others have said. Once you drive the RS you are hooked 4ever.

Meerblau = the best blau. Stunner!

Even adjusting for the hyperbole that most reviewers use these days (esp folks like JB), seems like the .2 is a helluva car. Motor seems to have a unique sound, love it. Can't wait to see what the .2RS is like.

Enough of the bitching, let's all rejoice at the era of automotive awesomeness we find ourselves in. (Oh, and RS uber alles... LOL)

At least everyone agrees there will be a .2 RS. A year ago Ridley Scott scenarios were playing from " reliable sources " : no GT3 no RS
GT3 yes Turbo. No RS.
GT3 Turbo RS hybrid and KERS.
GT3 Turbo RS mid engined hybrid.

Sweet another 3(RS) thread.

Not one person should be surprised. The newer version is always better. And if it isn't better the reviewers will ensure they tell you it is better.

Thanks. The new GT3 lap times at various tracks is going to surprise a lot of people. The engine is just nuts, and I love the fact that Porsche went back to the 9000 rpm red-line (vs. RS, and R).

Wow this has gotten into a big brother little brother fight. Just say this the GT3.2 will just keep going up in price from all the hype, and people with bitch at the 50k plus ADM

Good chance RS .1 and GT3 .2 will both sell for 220k ......GT3 will drop further than the RS regardless of year. I was lucky and sold my .1 GT3 144k MSRP was 152k drive it for two years. History will repeat boys so just saddle up. I think the new GT3 will be kickass, but not with 10k increase plus ADM. 200k plus will be RS, or move to a MAC Pcars will soon price themselves out.

I can't tell the difference from 9000 vs. 8800? 9000 sounds cool(:

I'm curious about the tires. I've heard a few people including AP mention .2 GT3 has next gen Cup2, but is that the same as the RS (N1) or another new compound? Once out of the controlled mfg launch tests, need to see somebody gather the .2 GT3, .1 RS and maybe R or .1 GT3 to get a good view. I don't see it being 3 seconds faster than the prior gen around a place like Angelsey on the same day.

Same day, same driver, same rubber I'm sure the .1 GT3 and .2 GT3 will be close with .2 faster. I wouldn't be surprised if the .1 RS is faster than the .2 GT3 still due to more mechanical grip and more down force. Add the 911R diffuser to the .1 RS and the RS will be a clearer winner. Engine power curve drops off for both at 8,250 RPM so I don't see 9,000 RPM being an advantage in time, just perceived emotion.

I have a .2 GT3 incoming that'll be parked next to my .1 RS. Finally pulling the .1 RS out of storage today as I sold something else . Though it is booked for a charity event next week first
