Default Best Porsche service in Northern California

I'm moving north of SanFrancisco and I am looking for the best Porsche dealer for service. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've had bad experiences with the service team at Rector / Porsche Burlingame but do like their lead mechanic who attends a number of PCA / track events as well. Awesome guy, but dealing with their service managers was like volunteering for a root-canal.

Had "OK" service at Sonnen and its the most conveniently located for me but curious to hear what others have to say. I recall hearing great things about Porsche Fremont but thats a bit of a hike from SF area.

I use Gunter @ Porsche Fremont for everything I can't do myself - always treated honestly and respectfully. But as noted above, it's a long drive for you (BTW - I drive past 2 other Porsche service centers to go to Fremont). Also I deal with Gunter directly - he's quite approachable.

Sonnen is the easy choice if you're north of the city.

In order of preference:

Gunter at Fremont is the most knowledgeable about GT cars and is mod friendly
Russell at Sonnen is very good also.

I use both depending on level of warranty repair/service required.

Welcome to the Bay Area. Come out and track with us when you get here!

Just curious, has anyone else had headaches working with Porsche Burlingame?

I recall seeing a couple of threads/topics suggesting some dissatisfaction with them - one of them I believe had an issue w chipped PCCB calipers...

I have not used Burlingame for some considerable time - I'm very happy with Sonnen

I have 3 P cars and live in the neighborhood. There was a time where things were difficult, but I think they've gotten their act together. I'd go so far as saying they've done me a few solid favors in terms of loaners, timing of getting my car back and generally treating me well.

I was in over the weekend, and one fellow was nice enough to show my son a couple of 918s that were in for service.

I've used Michael Stead Porsche in Walnut Creek for over 20 years. Great, friendly service. Keeps getting better. Doug Sinclair is the service manager; Bill takes care of GT cars.

Also, I've had nothing but great experiences with service at Stevens Creek, including finding and fixing a big mistake that another dealer here in the region made while installing some mods on my car. But they are more expensive than some of the other local dealers.

Default Big thank you

Thanks for all the replys from all of you guys. I greatly appreciate it. This forum is great. It's nice to know there are some trusted mechanics up in the Bay Area so I can replace my go to guy in Los Angles. Also, thanks Chris F. for the welcome and invitation to join in on a track day.

Most welcome. I was in your shoes 4 years ago and moved up here from LA too. Great group of GT folks up here, especially on track.
