Default PTS - 991 GT2 RS

Hi All,

A couple questions on PTS please. I am inline for a GT2 RS and hopefully a 991.2 GT3 RS.

1) Is PTS available for any customer?

2) Are certain PTS colours more desirable than others? I likely will keep my car for 10 years plus.

3) How much time does it add to the build?

4) Can you literally have them match any colour? I love certain dark greys/gunmetals. I also like certain whites and certain blacks. Love certain blues but don't know if I could go blue on a car I want to keep for years and years.

5) Rough cost of PTS?

Thanks

1. PTS is possibly available to any customer, but it depends if you can get one allocated during their very small window of PTS production, which is even harder on a car like GT2RS.

2. There are.... take a look at the PTS thread on this forum. Generally sticking to Historic racing, Porsche Motorsport, GT Classic colors will be most desirable.

3. It depends on when your original allocation, and when the next PTS build window is. There are also a lot of random delays involved in PTS production, also especially if you have custom options like CXX. Generally 2-4 months extra is expected.

4. You can literally have them match any color. Send in your shoe, send in your tile from your house, but it is not guaranteed. This process takes forever to pass feasibility tests and such, and usually works on only standard models (Carrera S, Turbo S), since GT2RS production window is so small, just waiting for the feasibility test will likely mean you'll miss the window completely. I would just go with the list of approved colors.

5. Costs for new GT3 PTS are not out but they are increasing the price. Whether GT2 RS PTS will bear a different price, that would be determined later. Rough cost is 8k-10k for non "Special PTS" with additional costs.

Does anyone know when the PTS window usually occurs?

Is the liquid metal paint finish seen on the 918 very expensive?

Yes, crazy expensive.

Don't know exact in my head but guessing $25.000.

Wow... so special though.

I wonder, if ever there was body damage, could a normal bodyshop match it?

Don't think so: I think I read somewhere that they use magnetic field to make the paint align properly (Google it).

Getting an allocation is virtually in the bag. PTS isn't though.

I am trying to better understand the PTS window and the cost of paints I really like.
