PTS - 991 GT2 RS

Be happy if you get an allocation...if you get lucky enough to get a PTS car you should consider yourself that much luckier.

In speaking with my dealer. If you get a GT2RS allocation, you're a top tier customer.. If you get PTS on top of that. Well you're an Apex Predator..
Typically that level is only achieved when you've had an intimate relationship with your dealer.. (YMMV in the US nowadays..)

Yea, Pts is not a random event which allows for some to get "lucky".. allocations are well-planned around the "right" customers to get PTS.. nothing is left to chance.

Well not exactly, dealers are assigned certain build slots for their assigned allocations.
If your dealer has a slot in the PTS window, of course the car can be ordered in PTS.
But those slots can also be traded, or more accurately reassigned by Porsche if the dealer's customer list includes some VIP on Porsche's list. Example being certain individuals, like Jerry Seinfeld or other important 918 VIPs, like those that had gotten PTS on their 911R.

Seinfeld did his 991.1RS in liquid silver blue metallic. Apparently it cost 80-100k.
They magnetize the cars and panels and then perfectly align the wet paint's flakes so that it has a super depth.
And it looks like rhodium silver.
If you are getting PTS on one of these- go bold. Get something that's very different from GT, rhodium, etc. Or it's a waste really.

Anyone know if it is true that you can't get another car company (such as Porsche) to essentially PTS a McLaren color? Something about McLaren either mixing their own color, or not allowing their unique paint ID number to be shared with the rest of the world?
McLaren has alot, and I mean alot of colors I love. As does Porsche...
