Default 991.2 GT3 OEM Wheel Options

**Wheel freaks only please.**

For those trying to figure out wheel options... Started doing my homework.
Found out that the standard 911R wheel ("paint finish in matte aluminum" on US configurator) is referred to as "white" something or another in Porsche parts catalogue. This would make sense because that wheel is so bright that it almost glows when seen in person.

As you probably know, this standard 991R wheel finish was not offered on the 991.1 GT3.
However, I believe that it was offered on the 991 RS, but cannot verify part number.

Trying to figure out two things:

1) Is the optional "painted in satin aluminum" wheel for new GT3 the same as the standard 911R wheel? I believe so because it looks exactly the same in 2D configurator, but couldn't confirm because the parts department that I called didn't have details for new GT3 yet.

2) Is the standard 991.2 GT3 wheel finish offering "silver paint finish with highly polished surfaces" the same as any previous 991 models?
Almost certain that it is not the same as any finish available on 991 Carrera models. Not sure if they are the same as any .1 GT3/RS offerings.

Not sure about #1 above, but pretty sure #2 above is same as Silver wheel (free) option on GT4...

Pretty sure satin aluminum is the finish that was used as standard on the 991.1 RS when Ultraviolet paint was selected (which also changed the color of the wing supports), and as GrantG said above, it looks like the standard wheel is no longer platinum but silver, which was a no-cost option on GT4s and I think available for 991.1 GT3s as well.

Bummer if true, but per Porsche (via Twitter), new GT3 standard wheel finish is same as 991.2 Carrera S standard finish.

Curious because I read somewhere on this forum that the standard wheel finish on new GT3 is unique. I believed this because pics looked different and Porsche's description is different.

If true, satin wheel option is an easy choice between the two (if not going black, of course). Not a fan of standard silver Carrera wheel finish. Looks a bit dull IMO. Certainly do not look "highly polished."

You get what you pay for.

Have you tried looking at the PET here?

^ Seriously, that is the most incoherent conversation ever- like some comedy routine. I would give zero weight to anything said. Get a reliable source.

^^^Agree, inconclusive for sure. Still believe that they are different wheel finishes. Time will tell.
Tried to talk to them about the configurator being wrong in 3D mode (not rendering the silver wheel finishes properly) but it proved fruitless.

No surprise. How about the fact that PDLS is listed as both standard and a $780 option? Porsche Customer Commitment is likely a better resource to research this kind of thing.
