I've got VC in my Boxster. I think I once entered an address in the nav system with it successfully and was impressed with myself.

Mostly, the only thing I use it for is "Stop route guidance" when I don't feel like reaching over and doing it manually.

So... I'm happy I have it... but it definitely wasn't worth the $800 or whatever I paid for it.

If it reminds me of the voice ctrl i had in any of my rs6s i would rather be without it, when vc is not perfect its just irritating, plus this is a drivers car.

German car VC and a Canadian accent don't mix.

Default Is QH1 Correct For All Porsches?

i have a 2018 Panamera e-Hybrid on order with a June Build date. I have read about the need to have the SA spec Voice Control on the Build Sheet in order to be sure it is included. Is the code QH1 correct for the Panamera or is it just for 911's?

Android auto is coming for the new PCM, supposed to be a software update. Who knows maybe the GT3's will have the update.

That's not what I heard. I read that Porsche choose Apple over android because Porsche didn't like all the information that android/Google collects and sends back to google.

That was the original stance. But apparently MY18 cars will have AA, at least that's what I was told, recently. Both Audi and VW support it,

In fact, dealers aren't even capable of ordering Voice Control for inventory in PVMS. It can only be ordered as a KF car. Dealers are supposed to inform their client that VC is still in the beta stage and that it's likely to give the client issues. if the client still wants it anyway, they can order it and there's no charge. You'll never find a car in inventory with VC unless it was a customer/KF cancellation.

If you've had no issues with VC in your car, then you're in the minority. Porsche knows how to build awesome sports cars, but they sometimes lag a little behind with their silicon valley-based technology. The rollout of Connect Plus in the 991.2 and the 718 last year was a perfect example of that.

Yup, absolutely true.

Porsche doesn't want any inventory car to have voice control. They don't want customers to accidently stumble into a Porsche with voice control as standard option and says its standard feature doesn't work well.
