Default Who is Going? Speed Ventures COTA April 28-30

Hello All,

Last year there were some great driving and connections made at the Speed Ventures COTA track days.

An awesome track and a well run venue if you have not been before.

Caution: COTA is addicting, and may not be a bucket list one time check off!

Thanks. That looks awesome. The intermediate or advanced driver part could be an issue, though.

Anyone who has done at least one true HPDE (with instruction, passing rules, flags, etc.) is welcome to run in the intermediate group. Hope that describes you!

Close! My career so far includes...

1. Pay entrance fee.
2. Watch YouTube videos of High Plains Raceway for a hour.
3. Ride shotgun with 3 buddies while they drive track.
4. Put in 3 sessions without getting black flagged.

How am I doing?

Well ... it's a good start

Which organization did you run with? Did you have an instructor? Was passing allowed? Did they teach and use green/yellow/black/red/etc. flags?

Winter "Open track day" so no organization or instructor required. Passing allowed (pointing not required), taught us about different flags and LED colors on track. Divided into 2 run groups (fast and slow). I found slow to be good, because everything happens in front of you with this car, and no need for rear mirrors. lol

And passing was from either side. It was the responsibility of the driver passing to make the move. The driver being passed was not supposed to get out of the way.

In case it wasn't clear, I work for Speed Ventures.

I'd be comfortable having you sign up and run in our Yellow (Intermediate) group. Might be good to grab an instructor for your first two sessions.

Let me know if you have further questions! adam at speedventures dot com

I am looking at this event too. Any one has experiences with the transportation last year? Were they professional in loading/unloading the cars?

What does 7s Only charge for transport to and from Buttonwillow?

Hi guys ... we are coordinating with Westside Carrozzeria out of Torrance once again. We have used them each year. They are a very professional outfit, fully licensed, bonded, etc. Good experiences each year.

You can add transport to your registration through Speed Ventures and we'll help handle the rest. Prices are $1300 RT on an open truck, and $1900 RT in an enclosed carrier which is very good for the distance. Also, you can drop your car at their secure facility anytime during business hours M-F the week before they leave.

We are not coordinating transport with 7s Only this year, but you may be able to work with them directly.
