Assuming no 991.2 GT3RS, do you buy a 991.1 GT3RS or the 991.2 GT3?

There will definitely be a 991.2 RS, with a manual transmission. I don't care what AP said. Why? Because demand will be very strong, and prices will be high. Porsche isn't walking away from that payday.

Spot on.
I have a 997.2 RS, so that's the keeper. The 991.2 GT3 will be epic, and I will drive the wheels off of it...just before I trade it back in for the 991.2 RS, which Porsche will surely make.

Bingo.

AP says the right things to sell the CURRENT models. Once there is a .2 RS mule running around his statements will change. I find it hilarious to read so many posts that start or end win "well AP said yada yada yada".

Marketing genius.

Marketing genius.

AP is good at marketing, but he point blank this year said the RS would be PDK only. They are diverging the GT lines the GT3 more toward being a drivers car and the RS toward track times.

There will be no manual for the RS.

Very bold statement.

Yeah, don't think manual RS and maybe not even NA RS.
R is LE country road special. GT3 jack of all trades as you want it volume model, RS track hero. Then more variants between the two in LE.

After that 992 space ships.

Only time will tell. I can see a limited run of manual cars ala the 997 4.0. Like Rob said...lots of money left on the table.

And I remember AP stating there won't be a manual in the 991 GT3 as it was a track focused car. Much like his recent statements on an RS car. Personally, I don't believe him.

I would go with the .2GT3 as well. I've always preferred the less "in your face" look of the GT3 and now you'd be able to get the best of both worlds with the 4.0/9k engine, manual and more subtle looks of the .2GT3.

Serious Q: Why? The 991.2 GT3 will have a better time on the Nurburgring, and it has the new, 4.0 engine.

If you can pick up an early .2 3 at MSRP it is a pretty low cost proposition. Do that, wait for an ideal .1 RS or a .2 RS allocation.

I have a .1 RS, but also a car buying addiction...

Let's say the 991.2 RS has a manual and 530-550 hp. Who's in?

Exactly.
