This. I wouldn't consider a car without a lift. I have to use the lift just to get out of my flat driveway because of the gutter at the end and our HOA doesn't allow those black curb bridges (although I might try to get away with one anyway!).

I originally wasn't going to get a lift, but probably will get one now that I hear the .2 is lower.

Does anyone have a side by side comparison of the height/angle of 991.1gt3/991.2GT3

Thanks for all your comments, but if we take away the practicalities - Is there a noticeable difference on track between the 2? I can only imagine that there has to be a difference as there is another system interfering with the front suspension.

No difference.

Driven both 1.1 GT3 w/ and w/o lift back-to-back. Literally, exit one car and strap into another in pit lane. No difference to this doofus of a driver.

But then maybe you're Senna and can notice 8kg of additional weight. Then, yes, reconsider everything you've been reading in this thread.

I drive a GT4 daily (no lift available) and have accumulated over 7,000 kms last summer. I have only scraped once pulling out of my garage but it was because of my own carelessness. How does the height and overhang compare with a GT3?

Now I know there are driveway entrances that lift will definitely help but most can be navigated to avoid scraping. It's all about the angle. I went to a cars and coffee where there was a very steep exit. Well, I and many other were just watching how many very nice cars would just pull straight out and scrape bad. I feel like some have just not learned the art of driving a very low car.

Yes have lift on 991.1 GT3. Use all the time. Better safe than sorry.

It all breaks, including the front splitter and bumper when you least expect it and you don't have a lift.

Price out a front bumper cap- pays for several lifts.

Plus good option for resale. Never heard of anyone passing on a car because it had a lift, but some do if it doesn't.
I'd buy a used GT car with a lift, but I would pay less for it than if it didn't have the lift. To me....less is more $$$.

I have a lift in my 997RS and I can count how many times I've used it on one hand in 3+ years. My GT4 and 991RS doesn't have a lift and I'm just fine. Have I scrapped the lips...sure but those are a lot cheaper than a lift.

So to answer the question.

If you live in California. Get lift
If you don't live in California. Don't get lift.
