Default 991.2 GT3 RS

There's been a strong collective opinion that we won't see a 991.2 Gt3 RS. And if so, it has to be turbo to keep up with the Joneses. Now that .2 Gt3 has a reworked 4.0 with "more room to run", it sure seems likely that not only will we are a 4.0 N/A Gt3 RS, we might also see a LWFW manual option. Why not? I wouldn't bet on the manual option but I wouldn't bet against an NA .2 GT3RS. Seems like it's coming to a theater near you?

There will be a .2 RS. Don't plan on a manual.

Looks like the GT2RS is coming first.

I didn't think they could build a 4.0 or 4.2 that revs to 9000RPM, not that 9000RPM is very useful with peak power around 8500 but it's indicative that they may have resolved it and may give room to an RS.

So now I'm not sure and the may bring one more NA GT3RS after the GT2RS.
All RS only PDKS I think.

I spoke to my dealer and he said same thing that GT2RS is next and then unknown if GT3RS. Might not be one till 992 generation.

In the interview by drivetribe (about the 991.2 gt3) - RS will not have a manual. Porsche is very clear about that. RS will be PDK.

Gt3 comes in manual and I am just grateful that it is a 500hp NA with 911R Manual

Worth to remember

Spring 2011 last 997 RS NA 4.0 LE (new 991 RSR engine purpose)
Frankfurt Sept 2011 991.1 Carrera
Geneva March 2013 991.1 GT3 (stop sales)

Geneva March 2015 991.1 GT3RS (delayed)
Frankfurt Sept 2015 991.2 miniturbo Carrera
Geneva March 2017 991.2 GT3

?991.2 GT2 RS
?991.2 GT3 RS

Spring 2019 Any 991 RS ( LE?) due
for 2020 RSR homologation purpose(NA+hybrid or Turbo hybrid or ?)
Frankfurt Sept 2019 992 Carrera
Geneva March 2021 992 GT3

notice that new models 991.992 or face-lift 991.1 991.2
presented regularly every 4 years

and regularly 18 months after 991.1 and.2 Carreras presented the .1 and .2 GT3s

according to this calendar .2 GT3 RS should be presented

Geneva March 2019

but might be somewhere earlier Autumn 2018 because last one .1RS was delayed

if not even earlier for some
EU emissions homologation changes effective Sept 2017
but then wxpect a very hard core product to differentuate from 2GT3

havent you noticed in .2GT3 presentation the words
more comfortable and rear seats too many times?

If they can succeed emission test looks like so

maybe to recover delays/upcoming new 992, might be 6 months earlier Autumn 17 and Autumn 18
but not such a difference

but imagine for a sec they really want to do one but they can t pass September emission tests with this engine/chassis without any hybrid

then expect a very hard core product to differentiate from 2GT3

havent you noticed in .2GT3 presentation the words
more comfortable and rear seats too many times?

Hmm, you maybe onto something.

We've heard about the hardcore RS rumors.
Maybe same engine but super light and everything else dialed up to 11..

Damn, a fat active aero GT2RS or a super light hardcore GT3RS...

I'm having sweaty palms and 2012 4.0 and GT2RS sleepless nights flashbacks..

I would not be surprised if the next GT3 RS is offered with a manual. Then it becomes the next car everyone has to have. Let's see...4 liter, 550 hp, 9k and manual. Frenzy time.

So according to that calendar, GT2RS will or could be starting sales in March 2018? I thought it was going to be unveiled late this year. And we shouldn't see a .2 GT3RS for two more years?

But then what IF all the rumors of an upcoming GT4RS are true? Where does that fit? I would think it would be before the .2 GT3RS?

I'm thinking GT4RS and GT2RS and at the end the unicorn LE.
By that time the bottom will have fallen out and I can get my 4.2L limited edition at MSRP .. Again.
