The 997 GT3 clutch was several levels of stiffness above my pay grade. Do we know if the new GT3's clutch is super/crazy stiff or not?
Literally, when I went to push on the clutch in the 997 I test drove, it did not budge. I looked down, completely expecting to see an anti-theft device attached to the clutch. It was THAT stiff.
I know, grow a pair. lol

reminds me of the first time i test drove my (now sold) 997.2 GT3. stalled it a few times, sheepishly. coming off a manual e36 track car, when i pushed in the 997 clutch, thought i had reached the stop.
@rajdatta was like "push more".
that will forever be the benchmark of stiff clutch travel in my compendium of manual transmissions.

There is no right or wrong answer as to transmission choices.
As my dad would say, that's why there is chocolate and vanilla ice cream. Everyone likes something different.
My 991.2 GT3 allocation was confirmed and my order will be placed for PTS Mexico Blue with a manual transmission as soon as the PTS window opens; which is expected to be around 9/17. I have a November freeze date.
I have some track experience, but have no desire to compete on the track. If my goal was the fasted lap time, then I would purchase a dedicated track car like a Porsche CUP car.
I've watched multiple videos of AP discussing the GT car division and he has stated that Porsche GT cars are truly competent track cars, but GT3 and GT3 RS are first and foremost street cars meant for occasional track use.
That makes completely sense to me, as a race car's setup is much, much different than a street car.
I just voted and its interesting to see that that the forum users have voted 60% in favor of manual trans. I would be very interested to see the actual take rate from actual 991.2 GT3 buyers.

Sticking with the manual on order, loved having it in my 997.2 GT3 and the GT4. Have the 997.2 Turbo S with PDK (only way it could be had) turned me into a believer about PDK. I can only imagine what it would be like in the 991.2 GT3 but that does not change my mind about the manaul for the 991.2 GT3. I am only a very occassional track user so rowing through the gears near daily will be the most fun for me in this car... each to their own.
