991.2 GT3 what they should do better

I don't think there are any show-stoppers on the 991.2. I would prefer those black scoops were molded in like the 997 RS 4.0, but I think any dislike of those scoops would fade the first time I gunned it.

He did say they took out more sound deadening material to reduce weight and that will make the inside sound more mechanical so we will have to see if it will be missed. One thing for sure- certainly would not put one on after his comments

You might be right b/c looking at the configurator with zero options on the car, the lower part of the mirrors are black. So standard looks to be matte as you say and gloss optional.

Stepping back - outside the boutique editions/hyper cars the GT3/GT3RS are the pinnacle that Porsche offer in terms of a highly focussed streetable track car straight out of the box.
Now, moving to the configurator I find the following (Australian configurator)
(1) No wheel options
(2) The standard seats are Sports plus (four way), sports bucket seats are offered as a $8,870 option and the full buckets are offered as a $11,530 option - yes you have read those numbers correctly
(3) Sports chrono is an option .............
(4) PCCB ~ $21,590........ (to be honest I'd keep the steelies)
(5) LED PDLS ~ $6000 (I do several night time events in a year particularly in our summer)
So, what should they do better - how about, have some wheel choice, add the bucket seats within the price and seriously SC as an option GTFOOH
This is the type of stuff that is pushing me more and more towards, McLaren and Merc (570S and AMG - GTR). Its not about the price its about the principle - some of this looks like chiselling (please note I have a deposit down on a 991.2 GT3RS but am/have considered 570S and AMG GT-R).
Porsche need to wake up a bit here - the last release didn't go well for them and given that there is a recall out on some 718's and 991's due to bolts that if not correctly attached may affect the fuel line - yes you read that correctly too.

I'm trying to recreate the .1 GT3 look as much as possible and want all the new black bits on the .2 GT3 to go back to body color.
I'd take carbon fiber over black, but I'd take everything again in Guards Red again over anything else.

Really like it!
I love what they've done to the engine - feels like this is THE engine.
It is probably perfect until you start to find those irritating small things - but important things because when you drive the car it doesn't matter how good it looks or how refined the engine is.
What is important is that you don't get distracted during the driving because that makes it a lesser experience.
Maybe I'm picky:
1 Will the TPMS Race work as you'd expect?
2 The Hazard button still is lost on the center console: In a full face helmet it is very difficult to find and in some circumstances this can be critical. (Used a lot on the Ring).
3 The factory mounted club sport fire extinguisher collides with the bucket seats.
4 The lever to move the bucket seats are to short. If you are fully strapped in with 6-points and not as tall as I am you can not move the bucket seat because you can not reach the lever.
5 Will it scrape - hopefully not. Why should it: its been developed on the Ring... (sorry for the sarcasm).
6 Will the gasoline meter show how much gas there is in the tank - guess not.
7 Will the oil measurement system play russian roulette with our car?
I do not think I'm picky. These are things you should't need to bother about when enjoying your otherwise perfect car.
Going down the Fuchsröhre at full speed sitting and thinking about how much oil the car has or not has is not good practice.

As the street-oriented option current GT3 is fine as it is with exception of no single-mass flywheel.

- Lion Battery
- Side-muffler delete

- 5-lug
- Stiffer Ti spring option
- Wider front tires
- 4.2L 550hp

ok, but then the top of the mirrors is then in carbon fiber, right?
I'm trying to recreate the .1 GT3 look as much as possible and want all the new black bits on the .2 GT3 to go back to body color.
I'd take carbon fiber over black, but I'd take everything again in Guards Red again over anything else.
