Silver gloss > Alu matte > Platinum matte > black

is what i see

not sure though the R silver wheels are equal to the GT3 standard silver wheels, i read somewhere they were specially made for the R? or am i mistaken?

silver goes well with white and rhodium
alu goes well with GT silver
platinum goes well with agate grey
black goes well with everything :-)

Doesn't look like that in real life.

My take on all these finishes is, you must see them in real life.

After all this, was it determined if the satin aluminium is the same as the 911R and RS wheels ?

Excellent question. I would really like to know how the .1 wheel tones map to the .2 wheel tones. The .1 silver looked gorgeous in person, and I can't figure out whether that is supposed to be plain or alu now.

i can't figure it out either, all the 991.2 GT3 real life pics are with black wheels, I haven't found any with the standard finish.

Has anyone seen pics of the standard finish? Is it lighter than the 991.1 GT3 standard wheels?

I know the satin aluminum is very close to the RS standard wheel

I picked the the satin aluminum because I was fearful that the standard on the 991.2 was like the old wheel and closer to the satin platinum color.

If you look at the black touring posted by Porsche, I believe it has the standard silver wheels which are not monochromatic silver, but have polished sections (like the configurator says).

Yup I spec'd my car to that pic. Wish there was a good side profile of it though.

I was at the IAA fair yesterday and saw the sapphire blue Touring edition which was fitted with standard wheels.
They look very bright and you can easily notice the clear coat. They are very shiny.
The aluminium painted wheels have no clear coat and hence have a matt looking finish, no shine whatsoever, but they look very bright too, indoor and outdoor.
Hope that helps.

Thanks gauss I would have bet the sapphire blue touring had satin aluminum they were so bright. But if that's standard I'll probably switch back and save a few dollars.

They are 100% the standard wheels, I can assure you. I was interested in this as well and asked one of Porsche's representatives who went and checked with his boss

Funny enough, I did spec my car to that pic, minus full leather which I am waffling on.

Am I the only one think the wheel on this black car is Satin Platinum?

It's a bit dark for the standard silver.
