^^^ wow!

This will be a sensational car. The 6 speed is an absolute joy. Am really excited for all that Porsche have listened and delivered.

Macca, gearing is short and certainly adds to the fun. I am still playing in the 0-5000rpm range with an R only recently delivered. The music and power that lurks beyond 5k still awaits :)

Who would have thought? Some will say that this was only about the RS but it definitely applies here as well:

Should've been working with them two years ago. Unless you're willing to pay to play.

I was working with 2 years ago...but was to get my current C4S. Now I am 2 years away from a GT3 purchase which seems like a reasonable lead time.

So you're saying I needed a 4 year conversation?

I would definitely start talking to some dealers ASAP. Most have lists deeper than all 991.2 allocations they be getting for 2018 and 2019 already.

Is this a case of irrational exuberance?

What I am reading is a 25hp increase, MT option, a sport steering wheel and cosmetic exterior changes for an additional $13,000. What am I missing?

robmypro 03-06-2017 08:29 PM

Sounds awesome!

Makes sense. Assuming a 3 year model run for the GT3, right? So through MY2020?

Porsche prices go up every year. Just be happy, some guys here were calling for even higher MSRP's to avoid dealer markups.

I'm sure it will only be two years. 2018 and 2019. No three years this dance.

2020 is slated for the new 992 Generation.

Should be a much more fun car to drive at low speeds with manual...

Jrtaylor9 03-06-2017 08:34 PM

Not quite the 60+ lbs quoted on pdks vs manual. For me personally, with a 991rs, I'd be tempted to try a manual if one comes my way at MSRP. Why not. If didn't have RS already, I'd go PDKS.

I still plan to buy the car. I loved the .1 that much. :)

Its performance will be interesting especially compared to the RS.
