Grant, why is it that most track junkies prefer the regular brakes? I understand PCCB's are not bullet proof and cracking is an issue which generate considerable expense.

The reason is financial. It costs over $20k to buy 4 new rotors (on sale) with PCCB where the cost is WAY less with the iron rotors (and you can buy aftermarket 2-piece rotors where the hat can be re-used with new rings). And the performance difference is negligible. And PCCB don't last nearly as long as advertised when used for tracking (longer than iron, but nowhere near long enough to break even cost-wise).

The PCCB rotors also require specific pads to work correctly (I think only one besides stock is recommended), while there is a pretty wide selection with the stock system.

Also, some people think the friction bite of the PCCB system is not as gradual and easily modulated.

Also if you hit the gravel/sand trap they are likely to chip and need replacement.

These massive 10-pot would be very heavy, seems unlikely they would put these on the gt3 no?

Panamera Turbo S Hybrid weighs 350kg more than the Turbo S at 2350kg, or almost 5200 pounds. PCCB come as standard, unlike normal Turbo S. Weight justifies brakes, even if it's making it harder to justify buying one!

I guess it's back to plan A: Iron rotors with Race Technologies (Brembo) RE-10 pads (and lots more money in my wallet).
I believe that the calipers will be something like this, yes.

Also speed has much more impact on braking requirements than weight (squared function vs. just simply proportional). Of course that Pana TS Hybrid is both very heavy and very fast...
Yes, GT3 definitely needs bigger brakes. They would only fit 24 inch wheels (25' for the RS).
