The eighth-generation Porsche 911 line-up which includes the GT3 will only use turbocharged six- cylinder, marking the end of naturally aspirated units in the line-up.
The standard models are set to get an extra 10-15hp over today’s Carrera and Carrera S when they arrive in international markets in 2019. Meanwhile, the GT3 will deliver 507hp.

If true:
#1. The new GT3 991.2 will likely have torque figures in the low 400's to go with it's 500 plus horsepower. It will be ferociously fast. After all if Porsche wants their GT cars to remain competitive on the track against new turbo driven models from other manufacturers, they inevitably had to go turbo.
#2. To get to 508 hsp, is there a need to bump displacement from the current 3.8 liter motor to 4.0 liters as some rumors have stated?
#3. 991.1 NA GT3's will be the last of their kind. This is good resale news for NA GT3, GT3RS and 911R owners based on the feedback I see on this forum. Other articles have recently pointed to Porsche offering special limited edition 911's with NA motors (ala 911R) in the future. This makes the article and rumors a little more believable as combined the over all strategy makes sense.
#4. My resistance to turbo's is weakening with the improvements in throttle response and lessening of lag over time. However the turbo sound track is so muted and relatively uninteresting. Will the gap in sound ever be closed or will it just become accepted over time as different?
