I stopped by the dealership today on the way home. The previous finance manager retired. The new person is Hope Moon, 949-723-3252. She doesn't seem to know much about these warranties, but maybe that could work to your advantage.

Regarding the inspection before approval of the warranty, I think since my car was less than 1 yr old and only had 4K miles, it was considered "new", so no inspection was required. When I bought an easy care warranty for my 996TT, it was 3 years old and they did require an inspection with oil change. If possible you can time it with your annual service, so you don't have to shell out extra money.

How would it be that much off from when you got it?

5yr/60k mi warranty to compare apples to apples, since the warranty starts when u purchase it (u would get 1 more year of coverage vs what I purchased). In addition, the later u buy an extended warranty, the more expensive it is. There is a big markup on these, so u can negotiate as well

Are these quotes really negotiatible? The finance lady made it seem to me that these prices were fixed.
