I have a 2014 911 with the ducktail and it seems most people who see the car
really like the look. Will be trading it in if I get my allocation for the GT3 but will be missed. Can't keep everything. I think I would like the option of wing delete with the look of the R. Would be a better fit for me on a car I would drive daily.
But Porsche give me the manual option for sure.

I don't think the 997 4.0 RS was cannibalized when the 991.1RS came out with a 4.0. Maybe that's not apples to apples, but a wingless GT3 wouldn't really have any impact on the 911R in my opinion.
It looks like I'm in the minority, but I like the RS without big wing. I've been told by multiple people at Porsche that it was a BAD idea to drive around without the wing.

Yes! 991 ducktail would be sweet. Lots of love for that ducktail... But after some thought a ducktail on the GT3 would somehow just not feel quite right. Needs a proper wing IMO.

Sorry, the look of the car is dictated by the purpose of the car and the performance its competitors: track day specials. Compared to these other track cars, the downforce on a GT3 is actually small with the current wing. The wing can't be replaced with a diffuser because of the low mounted engine in the rear.
To have a wingless GT3 is antithetical to the car's purpose. Why not get a GTS and spec the heck out of it?

A wingless, MT GT3 with sofas would be a wonderful companion to the RS and enough to differentiate the look and experience for me to purchase one as a daily.
I love the ducktail but in this circumstance, I see it as too much of a half measure. I say all or nothing.
