I'm not into Cup series to speak knowledgeably, but the wording made me think they might be referencing a specific cup series that may have had races outside the US. So they aren't saying there were 30 2016 cup cars total, rather 30 additional cars from non-US series were imported. Just a guess. For $189K you can find out...
