How much did he get from insurance? Msrp or fair market value? If he got 1.5 million- the amount he paid- why would mclaren give him a new one at Msrp? Everyone would then burn their cars and demand a new one. Get 1.5 million from insurance- pay 1 million Msrp.

Exactly. If he had the car underinsured for replacement, that's his gamble, not McLarens problem. My guess is he did just fine on his insurance claim.

The insurance company would likely go after McLaren if they felt their workmanship had anything to do with the loss. This guy paid an ADM by purchasing it from the original buyer. He got his money back through the claim. At this point its between McLaren and the insurance company. He needs to quit wining and move on.

Mclaren Corp exposure, if any, is Msrp. They sold the car for Msrp. It’s not their issue that Alejandro paid 1.5x. That’s the free market.

maybe mclaren Corp has some liability here- who knows. That’s assuming Alejandro didn’t do something crazy in the car. But I would venture to guess Corp is fairly insulted here? Maybe one of our resident attorneys can chime in.

Always said I would never buy a MAC, but love the 675LT. The 458 would be the sacrifice and the RS is the NA fix. Doing an inspection now, and think about it for a day to clear my kid in a candy store mentality.

I don't see myself owning a Mac anytime soon (never say never) but Im finding the 675LT more and more alluring, not even considering the price point compared to MSRP

They nailed the look down, and the performance/rawness of the car is supposedly wicked

Smart move to give it a day and see how you feel, looking forward to seeing which way you go. That's a nicely specced one by the looks of it

I think his point was more the way he was treated or ignored on such a serious life threatning problem.
It's Mclaren that is on the wrong they are the ones that have to offer some sort of compensation, even if it is from a costumer relations pov. An allocation for whatever mclaren, facilitate the acquisition of a Senna for sale, something but what they did.

But they don't know any better, they were cnts on f1, they were sleazy af with the price table and all the maintenance schedule of the mclaren f1, they are just being what they always were for a big part of their history.

It seems the biggest problem with McLaren is their aftercare customer service. It seems they oftentimes try to look for obscure reasons to shift blame away from the product and onto the owners.

What headache? Did he try a different dealer?

I has an Oil leak on mine that was caused by dealer incompetence. I went to another dealer who fixed it at no cost to me, also did a few other things, including a new battery. All I had to do was open the garage door twice for their truck driver...

Much less hassle than Porsche problems for me.

Do it but make sure you have a warranty. I have notice the LT variants are really put together well and the 675 is bad ***. I have thought about adding one soon, the prices are decent now compare to a year or so ago. People are going to figure out what this thing is all about and I believe the price will hold or maybe pop at some point. Good luck either way.

What’s the latest info on the next sport series car? V6TT with hybrid has been rumored?

Shouldn’t be too far off at this point; 7XXLT super series will probably be Geneva 2020 (or even earlier)...

So where do they get the V6? Just lop 2 cylinders off the existing engine - 3.0L?
