Both my McLarens have had ZERO issues...one a 15 650 s with almost 20k on it when I traded it for the 600lt...the newer ones are built even better. If you guys want something to be scared about, ask your service reps about all the new gen panamera issues, and cayenne issues they are facing already. My friend had his new new cayenne delivered to his home, for it to not start when he sat in it with the key. Had to be towed back...there is a story for every manufacturer.

Ill share my personal experience having owned multiple porsches including GT2, 458, lambo and a 650s. Mclaren does not have their little issues worked out, reliability is lower than others in class. Local dealers are great, Mclaren SanFran are very GOOD, seattle is good also. As a company they dont really take care of issues as they should, they only seem to care about making new products from the ground up. Dealer network is lacking.
This turns off a lot of buyers who just dont want to deal with the BS. All this aside, when they work they are #1 in my book. McLaren is a F1 technology company, and every new model smashes everything in its class. My now 3 year old 650s is still on another planet when compared to anything from other brands for the money. Ferrari is so far behind its not even fair. 991 GT platform is bulletproof but lacks in "wow".

After all that it’s a good step forward? Not in my book. It would have been a good step forward a long time ago without all the effort and fuss.
Macs don’t have a good reputation and stories like this have me crossing them off my list. Do you think the average owner without the following of this guy would fair better than him before he made an internet stink?
Stories like this that seem to predominate and other factors explains Macs implosive resale values.
Other marks have issues no doubt but not as seemingly constant and pervasive. PAG stands behind there products. It seems Mac has to be shamed into doing so.

I do really like the Ferrari V12 front engined cars- McLaren does not offer something in that vein. Their new GT type car will be more towards the price and HP of the DB11, although the speed of McLaren smokes the DB11...
Point being that sometimes car companies benefit from 'normal' cars, as Porsche certainly has from their 4 door cars. Ferrari's front engined cars occupy a super unique niche

i mean- you spend 300k on a car and it doesn’t run- that’s a problem and no denying it. But yes- don’t know the circumstances but what I’m reading is his car was bought back. Hopefully he is happy.

I just took delivery of my 600LT a couple of weeks ago. To say that I’m happy with this car is an understatement. The acceleration is incredible and the steering is sublime. It’s just a great package much like the 3RS—which I like and have much respect for. McLaren is making a great product IMO. It’s not for everyone and I get that. This is my second Mac and I like it much better than the first, which was a great car—650S. This car is in a word, Visceral! So much feedback and tactility to it. If you have the opportunity, give one a drive. They’re special.
Porsche GT cars and McLaren LT cars do have a couple of similarities. Both underrate their engines and both give great chassis feedback. They punch above their class. One final observation. I had a 997.1 GT3 and thought that car had the best steering I’d felt in car. It’s a benchmark car to me in that regard. The 600LT is better, which is saying something.
More driving to come and impressions to share.

Man, I love the 720's but seems like once a month there is a Youtube video of someone with issues with a Mac. Obviously many here have them(or have friends with them) with no issues so it's hard to figure out what is really going on.

Hi, the color is Vega Blue. It’s metallic in nature and changes color with light. A bit like Porsche’s Shapire Blue but a bit deeper perhaps. Great color for me anyway. The seats you see in my car are standard seats. They’re lifted from the P1 and a lot like the LWBs in Porsche GT cars. I think Senna Seats are cool but not worth the cost. I had a budget too. It’s a great car. Nice to have so many choices these days.
