The above scenarios are unlikely. BUT- Chit happens, so yes I really like your employee/wad. I would like more information, perhaps a pamphlet in PDF.
You missed my point. The "employee" is the $100k wad itself --- not the human you'd pay with the wad to work for you. The scenarios you described only confirm the superiority of the $100k wad as an "employee" vs a living, breathing person.

All I know is people who are OK losing $60-100k are normally in bankruptcy in the not to distant future. But hey it was fun while it lasted...

bill,

another way way to look at it is that they put themselves in a financial position where 60-80k doesn’t mean as much.

Enjoy the toys you buy and don’t leverage yourself to get the toys. There is a cost of ownership and the people I know are well aware of the cost of ownership and they plan accordingly.

Enjoy the cars and if buying a car is going to make you bankrupt, Ipoh have many more problems than losing money on an exotic.

still looking for that elusive 100k off msrp after a few months.
With all due respect, no one cares about what order the cars rolled off the production line. The owner who traded that car lost every bit of $100k after one year of ownership and 2500 miles. Regardless of wealth, no one wants to be careless like that.

with all due respect you are missing the point. I referenced the serial number of the car to indicate it’s age. It’s an 18 month old car not a few months old.

cheers.

The wealthier you become the more guarded you’ll become.

Cheers, and have a very happy/successful 2019.

wealth is a relative term. I know Uber wealthy people who love to spend money and enjoy buying things. I know Uber wealthy people who have a heart attack if their phone bill is an extra $5 that month.

have a plan. Be calculated with your money and don’t over extend yourself.

Prosperois 2019 to you as well.

Interesting thread...well I dont have to worry about trying to own a McLaren...at 6'5" tall I tried to sit in one...not going to happen...more room in my Porsches. Neat cars for sure though.

I’m 6’4” and have zero issues. Plenty of headroom to spare. Lambos- different story. It’s too tight for me.

But my gt3 and gt3 rs had the most room of any sports car I owned.

I agree, all the successful people I know, are never happy losing money. But, I don’t see depreciation on a car that I enjoy using for pleasure as “losing”.

By your thought process, vacations are useless as is fine dining, because one would be losing that money.

I am “losing more than double that amount right now for my holiday with my family and parents. But, I don’t know if this is the last time my parents will ever get to spend quality time with their grandkids because of their age and health.

Some people choose to live their best life. Others......

I'm 6'4.5, did you try the 720? Roomier than 570's. Arguably AOK if on slimmer side. But like Yippie says, gt's easily the best for us taller goons.

We should start a fresh poll thread called "most essential discretionary income budget line items"

Bingo. That’s exactly my point. Not many cars doubled in value and hold that value while being driven too. My bet is that when the Gen IIIs start appearing on market for real once sale prohibitions expire they will be selling for $1M+ and Gen IIs will see another spike in price. All boats rise with the tide.

You guys are amazing. Touting McLaren’s on a Porsche forum. CJ, I suspect most people who bought RS’s paid little or no ADM on them. Most went to a dealers best customers at MSRP. Also a 488 is not wobbly. I own one and have a bunch of track experience. I personally wouldn’t touch a McClaren with a 10 pole. To each their own.
