Ring times rank around 10th or 11th place on what drives my decision to buy a road toy. I’m not worried about McLaren’s racing pedigree. Nor am I worried about depreciation with LT cars. I might worry how it’d fair getting beat on over multiple track days but I have real race car for that.
If you haven’t looked at McLaren up close, sat in, or driven one you really owe it to yourself to do so. The technology, construction, and materials are on another level, they sound great and go like helll. Plus, I actually enjoy walking into the dealerships. That’s enough for me to give it a go.
And lets face it, if Porsche would actually sell me the cars I want and the majority of dealers weren’t yanking my chain we wouldn’t be having this dialogue. Unfortunately Porsche ain’t making enough cars and there aren’t enough dealerships like Fresno Porsche out there treating customers with respect so there it is.
Looking forward to seeing blue flames in the rear view mirror on the first night run. 🔥
P.S. Macca does do the occasional Ring road trip: https://newatlas.com/nurburgring-mcl...ap-time/49744/
I'd be more into a 600LT at <$300K and without all the Porsche ADM BS than play the GT game, beg to buy a car etc. Plus it looks better. I am not a track rat but not a Turbo S guy either. I think my next car after the Peformante will be a Macca. I love the look of 600LT. Can have C2S for pottering around town. plus 600 for less than the price of a GT2RS. I need to still watch $$

Just heard today, that there aren't many if any 600lt allocations left (coupe) :/ That didn't last long. The spider coming out has a few spots I'm sure still though.

I am interested in the 600LT and while doing an image search I found a series of recently uploaded photos of a gray car which I assume to be the exact car that did the Goodwood hillclimb and could be seen revving its engine to spit the flames from the exhaust. Looks like the left exhaust pipe melted?

If nothing else, then do it for the sound. if the roof scoop on 600LT the same or similar sound effect that it has on the P1, or a 675LT with the MSO scoop, then it's worth it no matter the cost . Skip the carbon fiber, slip the special paint, skip all the options.. but get MSO to fit a roof scoop. . in those two cars there is massive intake noise, and blowoff valve noise.. basically in brings a normally boring mclaren sound alive.
I don't know what MSO will charge for a roof scoop on a 600LT.. but it should add significantly to the auditory experience. I'm biased as I love roof scoops.. I'm a big fan of another brand's also.. (Pics i took of Pagani roof scoops during my gt3 european delivery where I participated as a support vehicle to their rally)

Roof scoops, are worth their weight in gold. I love roof scoops.. had an exige with one and In my mind it became a mclaren f1 or an f50GT. If you can roof scoop.. do whatever possible to roof scoop.

So smth like Porsche SymPoser tubes that feed engine/exhaust noise back into the cabin...

Just put in my 600lt spec today, ended up at 279 and delivery in November...did the louvers and fenders in carbon (ugh) but left the rest of the exterior carbon out as it's mainly appearance vs any performance benefit. The scoop was the one thing I was really thinking about but I don't love the way it looks on the MSO X (vs the 675LT which I do love) and I'd have to put in like 45k with what needs to be in it to have it...which for this car at it's "bargain" level seems like it could bring it into dangerous territory. I don't think the car specced under 290k will have any real resale repercussions short of a terrible paint...above...that's an interesting question...either way, this thing is going to be a riot.
