wow, mooty, surprising to hear. I prefer pdk regardless, but seems like the folks that prefer manual have been happy with the manual in the 991.2 gt3..?

I like the manual in the .2 it's a great gear box and even with the PCCBs easy to heal and toe at the track. I just think these are so fast now that to have the PDK makes more sense. These cars are just incredible either way you go

A manual McLaren? Isn't that sort of like gourmet McDonald's?

Yes, PDK allows you to go faster without worrying about the next gear, but don’t neglect the art of manual shifting. That’s just being lazy. Never forget the 997 days haha

There was a gtr at laguna this wee, was hot, with check engine light- overheating coming on repeatedly. Don't know owner name, it was a grey one. Had heard of this prior, first time seeing it

I get everything in manual. Even if manual is worse. I can’t drive auto. I forget if I am in drive or reverse. I go into a corner and my left foot slams the brake looking for a clutch. My brain is broken. Pickup, SUVs, station wagon, all manual. I have an auto sedan and I am am trying to buy a manual to retrofit it (anyone have a wrecked F-type 6MT). Why Mac does not have manual puzzles me. When they came back I was all about one as I loved the F1 (could never afford one when they were merely really expensive as opposed to stratosphere now) so I thought it would be a baby F1 —> great. Instead, turbos and flappy paddles. I save money, no Mac, no fiats (still looking for 612 6MT not in red and other unicorn tears).

Nonetheless, a manual Mac would be a super high demand car so I suspect we will see one at some point.

Oh, you were there too - I wish I knew. I've seen that car. I could not drive that day because of an oil leak I discovered the morning of, so I left early after spectating a little. So GT R did better than my Porsche that day.

Yup, and I am not alone. If the dealer I am loyal to cannot get one for me I would need to pay a crazy ADM. Sad, last summer I was sitting in with the GM at my dealer. He was bidding on GT3 RSs at auction to have one on his floor. He did get a low mile Lava Orange. Had it on the floor for 50k over.
What is also sad is that nearby in Newport there is a privately owned car museum. Owner bought a 918. Gets each new GT car and sticks it in the museum. 918 was in the museum a long time off the charger. Long enough to ruin the batteries. Saw it in the service bay waiting for new cells.

Hell: When you realize that money can’t buy your way out of boredom.
