So funny enough I've been waiting all week to take delivery of my new 570GT! So here it is.
But on our test drive before I signed all the papers we immediately ran into a steering wheel vibration. Apparently McLaren puts foam inserts in the tires to help tire or road noise reduction? he thinks one has come loose. Either way they to put it on the truck and bring it back to the dealer.
So I guess I'm already learning about McLaren "niggles" on my first day!

Just a OT on the middle of OT:
I think Mclaren model names are about wheel HP, rather than crank HP.
I just saw a dyno video where a 720s made 691 to the wheels, thing is, they didn't use the blower and if the hp line continued as linear (more air needed to intake and intercooler) it would do pretty much 720 whp.
What a crazy car. Can't imagine how the track version will be. Just a pity so little aftermarket tuners and so few (Mclarens) being reliable when tracked.

Model names for McLaren are in PS (pferdestärke) or metric horsepower. Metric hp multiplied by .986 will yield HP or 710 hp for the 720s. Interestingly the 675LT yields the Devils number 666 . Anyway I believe most of the Dyno tests we are hearing about are in HP (American style) at the wheels. Latest one I saw for the 720 is 700 at the wheels. However, I believe most American manf measure at the crank (due to standards) rather than wheel - so are we really saying the 720 is closer to 800??? Most of you probably already knew all that
It just has to have more power or similar power to an f12tdf. The obvious part, is when both cars are in High rpm where both are making peak power, and yet, the Macca just moves on and on.
Then there is the 918, that I think the 720 won in a similar manner as it did with the f12 tdf. It's a bit impossible with only 720.

my 570s had 620hp+ at the crank.
the numbers/names of the McL are the hp on the crank.
but they do it like P - to be not below there numbers.
and on turbo charged cars - where the whole model lineup is using one and the same engine - it is quite "easy" to be more above than below.

I'd guess the 570LT is not far off being announced, maybe before next Summer, followed by a 720 convertible.
