Default Engine Replaced - Good?

All,

I'm thinking about buying a 2014 GT3. Was one of the early cars that has a replacement engine and an extra year of warranty as a result.

Is this a good thing? Bad thing? Irrelevant?

Thanks in advance.

The US 14's with the replacement engine got a 5 yr. or 100,000 mile warranty. I took delivery on 10/8/14 and my warranty is good until 10/7/19. If you find one you are interested in call PCNA Customer Relations and give them the VIN, they will confirm the warranty status of the car.

If you haven't driven one you will be amazed, it's that good. You definitely get the extended warranty but as RFGGT3 suggested, give PCNA a call and double check for a piece of mind. Good luck and happy driving.

I'm sure the warranty is on the car - I'm dealing with a Porsche dealer.

I appreciate the confirmation from you guys that the engine replacement isn't some sort of red flag. I've made my best offer and an awaiting their reply. If they take it, great. If not, I'll roll forward with the GT4 which is an awesome car too.

Just a historical note, all 2014 GT3s have replacement engines. By the time the stop-sale ended production restarted as 2015s. Good luck with the car, hope you are successful.

I bought a 2014 GT3 with a replacement engine. The extra year warranty etc made it a better deal than paying over msrp for a 2015.
No issues with it either. Love the car.

My '14 GT3 has been nearly flawless. Had one minor issue with the oil fill sensor which was replaced under warranty. It's a ton of fun and with 100k mile warranty, I plan on driving it as much as possible. Enjoy.
