Default Cost to insure GT3

Leland West currently insures my 911. My current premium for the C2S is $1086 (per year) with an agreed value of $70K. The quote I got from them for a 2016 GT3 valued at $150k is $1864. Does that sound like a reasonable number? Would like to hear from current owners on how to insure the GT3. I'm based in FL.

The boss (aka wife) wants to see all the number before I go ahead with an order for the 991.2. She has so far never got in the way of any of my car purchases. But the GT3 would be the most expensive car buy for me, so it makes sense to have her go through the numbers too. LOL

I pay $2500 a year for 250k agreed value with Chubb on an RS. I started a thread on this topic a few months ago and there was a decent range in premiums, but still in this ballpark.

I pay $700 annual for a 997S with an agreed upon value of 44k. I think you were quoted a fair rate for a GT3 worth 150k.

Interesting. I love Chubb and think they are the best insurer out there. Had a jewelry claim when wife lost an earring thanks to my two year old and it was painless. I tried to insure my GT3 with Chubb and they flagged it as a "high performance racing car" and added a 6K premium. Late 30's no accidents, no lien and standard limits. Also have home and other valuables worth $$$ insured with Chubb. I gave up and moved all my cars to another well known provider. Pay the same amount they wanted for the GT3 for everything.

Damn, that's strange. I'm mid 30s with a lien and clean record. Funnily enough, I was with Amica for a long time and when I called them to insure the RS (and drop a GT3), they jacked up the amount like $7k with no real explanation and basically said "we don't really have a product for that but can make a number up for something that we just said doesn't exist anyway" kind of thing. So I dropped them and went to Chubb. Was painless. We must have had different underwriters!

im also through Erie; less then $1000/year. However, location is everything and Indiana tends to be one of cheaper locations. Now that my RS is built, going to call today to see what insurance will set me back on that bad boy.

Was paying $2600 for GT3 with agreed $165k value thru Grundy. Moved to New Jersey Manufacturers with standard insurance for $1100 per yr. Not sure what their value of the vehicle is.

Sorry but these insurance are totally useless....there are so many factors that go into a premium....age, zip code, number of cars, age of drivers in the household, etc, etc, etc.....

I always assume that anything less than 2k annually for a car like this is a significant discount...imagine paying 6k over the life of your ownership span for 3-4 years and that is really a small price relative to tires, maintenance, etc etc

It's basically a 13th monthly payment per year if you think about it like that.
