As I have said time and time again. These are not rare cars, there is no shortage, the dealers conspired to keep prices artificially high:

they are expecting $25K-40K over, i am not even going to bid. i hate buying cars this way. i had a deposit with a local dealer for .2 RS at MSRP, they are now backing of this and lucky me i can stay on their list to buy at whatever arbitrary premium they choose to set when my turn comes. i am probably in a small minority but for me this is completely switching me off Porsche - looking at mclarens or even a z06.

All I want to add to this thread is that dealers that engage in "bidding auctions" are flagrantly breaching business practices that PCNA do support.
As a matter of fact, PCNA do care!

If they are going to be blatant about it, just freaking put the allocation on Ebay and get it over with quickly. Not string it out by calling dozens of people telling them the bid is a X over now and if they want to bid higher.

No that's just said that some good dealers have morphed into a stealers with all the dollar signs on GT cars clouding their judgement. Same thing happened with a Nevada dealer who used to sell all their GT cars to locals at MSRP and then I heard they were asking for $50k over for an RS (which they sold to an out-of-state buyer) even though they had several local guys like me in line.

Hard to imagine PCNA condoning this practice.

Three Wheelin'
Ouch!
Heck, I might have a better shot if PCNA went to a resume system like Ford.

I called them too and got a similar ADM. I told them the number didn't work for me, and they asked what I needed. We didn't find a common ground, but they voluntarily told me that they were given the car for meeting their goals and that Porsche knew the car was going to sell for over MSRP.
It's too bad the MSRP dealers are out of allocations though it's easy to understand why. If only Porsche would give those dealers more cars. I have no idea how the full allocation process works, but it would be nice if there was some very heavily weighted factor that included "days to sell" on the GT cars. Dealers could ask for a 50k premium, but while that car sits, the car down the street sells at sticker and the allocation faucet opens up for them.
I wonder if we'll see a bigger than usual price bump with the .2 cars so PCNA can cash in on some of the fun.
