Big Decision
Porsche St. Louis accepted my offer of $150,000. plus my '14 GT3 with 15,000 miles for their Racing Yellow GT3RS. I want to sleep on it.
What do you think?

I'd sleep on it too. I guess my only question would be, how much would you be willing to pay for the RS straight up then go from there if you feel you're getting fair value for your GT3. I'm excited for you and I hope you make yourself happy either way. By the way, I love the RY colour as you can see.

Bronson,
Thanks, read the spec. sheet on the car on the website; it is unique and that is my big attraction.
I know I am not getting fair value for my GT3, in my mind, but my car has 5K track miles and that scares future buyers.

that car has 210 sticker iirc
premium 30-40 = 250
so your car is worth 100 in trade
the fudge factor is about 20k.
if you like the color, go for it.
it's a premium but not as exhorbitant as some i have seen.

The RS is the one to have.
You spend way too much time at Sebring to not have an RS..
To me, an RS is worth 75K more than a GT3. 50K for the car and 25K because RS. Factor in miles and call it $100K..
But I never had a job and I'm wealth deficient.
I don't know if I'm helping but you already know that the GT3 is awesome but at 15K track its well, pretty used. The way we use it ;-)
If mine didn't come with some sentimental value I'd be looking at trading as well, but as things are I will be forced to buy an additional one. Long story short, European Delivery, my dad passed away....
But as you see it as a track tool (I know you do) another fresh GT3 with G motor would be the cheaper option but if it eats at you, as it would me not having an RS, then go for the best deal on the RS you love. You wont let it go, so its filling your head.
You car is worth, what at LEAST $125K?
That makes this RS $275K. Its a fake PTS so its worth more than the "regular ones" but that's a lot.
Pretty sure we can find you an RS for <225K, but probably not yellow.

Lots of us grind in these threads about trying to pay the least amount possible for an RS and I think that becomes too much of the focus, versus what's going to provide you with that ridiculously silly grin on a regular basis (and not cost you 50% of your net worth)?
As someone who had a '15 GT3, and has a '16 RS, you will love both, but you WILL love the RS more.
The only question left for you, it seems: "What price happiness?"
Jay Leno used to do a commercial for Doritos that had the tag line: "Eat all you want - we'll make more." I've adapted that slightly for my wife and me: "Spend all I/you want - I'll make more".
It's unlikely you're going to be lying on your deathbed thinking, "If only I had another $__k".
Better to be lying on your death bed telling your close friends about the time you overpaid for an unbelievable GT3 RS in Racing Yellow and the aforementioned ridiculously silly grins it brought you.
And that it was TOTALLY worth it. Buy the RS!!!!!!!

just curious
if RS will be used on track, why pay all the extra premium for ???? PTS , it will not add any more driving experience
RS IMO is not PTS ,
tough call

Echo all the above!
I did this exact move not two months ago. You have to ask yourself will you think of this difference of 150k even once two months after purchase. If yes, reconsider and wait for the prices to fall because it is a premium. My biggest concern was not the money it was the possibility of a check engine light coming on midway down the front stretch at barber on a beautiful Saturday of a track weekend.
I don't know your gt3 engine history but mine was perfect - for now.
New yellow gt3rs -$275k, new 4liter engine with new parts and reliability - priceless.

Just did same switch. RS is def more special with all its noises and increased bandwidth for track. You wont regret it.
