Aston Martin is ganging up with Mercedes and the db11 seems pretty competitive already. AMG's own GT is ahead of its time in the first place, making a convertible. All the while Porsche has no premium engine convertible until a new Spyder might come out (hopefully a Speedster, too, but that would be unobtanium again).

Sport Classic > Speedster. But I'd take either. Here's some ancestry:

I imagine they will be keeping the turbo 3.0 if the 997 version gives a guide?

Those renders are showing both the Sport Classic and speedster as having the turbo engine with the rear intercooler bumper outlets. Not sure why as presumably both will have the 4.0

Why would we presume this?

If either of these have the 4.0 that would be amazing!

Will either retain the rear seats?

Back in 997, Porsche created 2 crazy expensive limited cars. Sport Classic and Speedster. In 991.1 they did the same thing - just that they only brought the Coupé to the market - the 991 R.

It is safe to assume that they would do the same thing for the 991.2...

"Crazy collectors" like the 4.0 engine significantly more than a boring 3.0l Turbo.
So either they stuff in the 4.0 engine and sell the cars for >200k or they use the GTS engine (maybe with 10-15hp more) and sell it for 160k (because why go for the Sport Classic if you can get the 991.2 GT3 Touring?).

Additionally they can do a bit of scale effects on the 4.0 engine.

Sounds all good to me.

Yes. Was pretty standard inside, just some brown leather.
