Anyway, Thanks for keeping things real CJ.. can you tell us based on your preview if you think people will be positively surprised by 991.2 GT3 or should we expect just a small incremental gain over 991.1 GT3?

There will be a lot of happy people (assuming they don't have to play games to land one) because the car will allow you take your time to make you own choices, although my impression was visually stimulating I was being guided and as policy phones are bagged and tagged by secretary.
I probably won't be getting one but am almost ready to get them for other some.

mhh. that surprise me.
you are a R owner - but you are not a guy who put wishes before facts.
its 2017. so i guess not more than 2 months left for final and official specs.
if they would not bring the GT3 with manual - they want to go the "R path" with the GTS or another model.

There has been so much misinformation and also deliberate disinformation about this car, and I haven't had the access that say CJ has had, but the above would add up, given what I have heard, inc very recently.

As always certain aspects of the car will be different to the previous iteration. A little more girth in the right places...more smiling faces.

makes no difference to me - I got an R at MRSP and not selling it, not buying a new GT3. (It might also be cheaper, faster, newer, buy none of those guarantee it's better!)

....and we're just warming up.
The .2 GT3 will sell out regardless of the transmission. Most can appreciate both, but when forced upon us we have no choice. I would really like to know two things. How many held out and didn't buy the .1 b/c it was only PDK S and how many said they wouldn't buy it, but finally did and now have a difficult decision whether to get the MT or PDK S if offered? If the .1 was offered in both, there's no question I would've gone MT and wouldn't have even given it a second thought. I believe Porsche forced the PDK S down our throats thus making us really see what it's all about. Now that we have tried it, many will get the PDK S. Just my view.

Offering a pdk only GT3 was one of the biggest mistakes ever made by Porsche in years. Only their marketing department aka " bean counters " was " satisfied " with the outcome, people that count knew it was a mistake and it will come back to haunt them.
The GT4,911R are living proof of that mistake. Add internal debate, feedback from important customers, from auto journalists that " sell " cars and the marketing department was left " with their hands in the air ". Demand for a manual GT car is stronger than ever! Why? Look around you : there's nothing left.
