After getting jerked around at two different Porsche dealerships on the GT3 (long story that spans over 16 months) I called two local MB stores to talk GT-R.
One told me they have no allocation and doubt that they'll ever get one because of the rumored "production ceiling". He did not even offer to build and submit to see if MB would accept.
The second dealer said there were only 4 open spots in all New England that did not have a customers name on it. He was nice enough to take my build and process the order to see if MB would accept or get an unallocated spot. No talk of more than MSRP or anything and was fairly optimistic being production turn around season to get a slot in with a delivery of 8-12 weeks. Just in time to sit in the garage until spring
Refreshing to not be told "12k-30k over MSRP is what my other customers are offering, can you play in that range". This is after going from a '14 CS2 to a '16 GTS and then anticipating a .2 GT3 to join the GTS in the garage .... fairly easy customer
Full disclosure my daily is a E63 AMG Wagon that I absolutely love to death. Fairly certain putting that amount of brute force in the very sexy GT-R body will be an enjoyable experience.

Chris, great spec'd GTR, the car looks awesome. Congrats and enjoy it.

Almost the same spec I just put in today only I went with Selenite Grey Metallic
Loved the look with yellow calipers, yellow stitching and yellow seat belts!

Looks like Diamond White Metallic? Great color if so. I've had it an it shines at the right times, under the right exposure to light. Other times it just looks like regular white. Really nice. Congrats.
Just curious -did anyone who gave up on a GT Porsche for obvious reasons and ended up with GT-R also considered 570 S? And vice-versa?

Does anyone happen to have an allocation for one they aren't going to use or know of a dealership that is going to get one that is not already claimed. I would love to get one at MSRP! The two dealers here in central Florida have both presold two cars and then have a line so I'm out of luck at my local dealers.

I'm sure you know of a lot but I know of a green one (not my speed but never know) that will be available through a friend's dealer if that's what you're more interested in.

Those seats look great. Does recaro manufacture them?

I posted this in the Mclaren Success thread but will post it here again in case some of you are not reading that thread.
A few weeks ago, Porsche gathered all the instructors together in Germany. They brought a bunch of GT3 4.0s for them to drive. But they also bought a 488, AMG GT R and a 570s. At the end of the day he Porsche engineers asked the instructors to objectively rate the cars. The result:
1. GT3...best overall
2. AMG GTR.. very, very close to GT3...best sound
3. 488...best engine.
4. 570s...best nothing
The 570S was a long last because it did not last the day. kept over heating so they had to park it.
All cars were compared back to back.
They also had a GT3RS there for comparison. GT3 was faster.
