Although it is 100% correct that in Europe there is not a Vip program, it is as true that Porsche is keeping a close eye on what is happening with the R that has been allocated in Europe....and I can guarantee you that your friend Targa75 will have a difficult time getting another LE in the future from Porsche (which I think is more than fair).
Having said that, as mentioned before, his car, his right to do whatever he wants with it, we are in no position to tell him, or anyone else in the same situation, what he can or canno't do. Everything started just because he was saying on RL that the car wasn't for sale when effectively it was...that's just a liar in my book and not someone belonging to this community so I'm quite happy we won't see him around here anymore!

I don't care what he does either but it's got me thinking of some good future customs sills.
"Show me the Money"
"Congratulations Auction Winner"
"Highest Bidder"
I wonder if Porsche would reject any of these?

So here's a question regarding the "Flippers". When is one considered a Flipper? Most who are in the GT type cars, specifically the RS and at times the GT3, can all be $$$ makers. So if I know I can get an RS but have no plans on keeping it, drive it for a year knowing damn well I could still sell it and cash in to some extent, does that qualify me as a Flipper? I'm sure there's many out there that play this game.

Watching these games from the sidelines gives me a negative feeling on how they do business. I wonder in the long term if that affects them in a negative way if others feel that way as well.
Maybe I think too much??
Porsche is lucky to have these car clubs cheerleading for them, or else they'd have big image problems in my opinion.
I think Porsche takes their customers for granted and thinks they'll line up for anything they put out. Not always the case ....

Don't really care who sells what or for how much of a profit in the second-hand market. That's between buyer and seller.
However, when cars are manipulated in the primary market between Porsche and it's dealers... that's a very different story.
Don't really mind when this is done with rare cars like the 'R' or 'GT2' but when done on mass produced models it's a complete turn off.
If the new GT3 is everything that I hope it will be, and Porsche ****s with the supply in such that I can't purchase a new one at MSRP within a couple years of release... I'll try my best to steer my business elsewhere in the future, or at least not buy a Porsche new in the future.

So I guess there's two kinds of "Flippers", the ones of make $$$ and the ones that lose $$$, fair enough.

Flippers would be those who buy a car that has great demand (as the GT's), with sole intentions of selling immediately for a "flip" and profit over MSRP. The whole plan is to purchase and "flip" for a profit and take advantage of the limited supply.
This slot or allocation is taken away from an enthusiast who plans on keeping the car and enjoying it. Even if it's until the "next" car comes out (ie RS or whatever). Many of these enthusiasts with a LONG history with Porsche get pushed out, become jaded, and become not happy with the brand and process.
Taking these allocations out of the system when in great demand, creates a secondary market because of scarcity that causes these cars to be traded at a premium profiting the "flipper". People feel differently about the whole thing, but just explaining the basic rationale.
They are easy to spot these days. There is a set of criteria and weighted averages to determine one worthy of the award.
Overall, a subject that has been beat to death. Will becoming alive and well come .2 GT3
