Default Gear Change Assit on GT3?

My friend showed me two pictures and a video. How can these be done? Anyone did this before?

I tried on the RS but it means reflashing the car wit PIWIS making it think its a 911R, didn't want to risk it.

Strange. That second picture is showing a GT3 (tach) with GT3RS in the digital picture. Did they flash it with RS software? Does it still run up to 9000rpm?

^ It does look that way doesnt it? Infact it looks like GT3RS software has been flashed onto a GT3, so maybe its possible. I wonder if it only revs to 8650 then?

It is a useless feature. Have it in GT4.

Every time you plug into the system at the dealer the information goes directly to Germany...They have all your cars data.. Think about that...

That's why you never use the PIWIS tool on your own unless you're at an indie shop.

I was thinking the same thing. Re-flashing your ECU with parameters from a different engine/gearbox setup could cause unintended problems, not the least of which might be warranty issues with PAG.

Also, is this feature performance related? Does it also suggest downshifts for optimum acceleration or just upshifts for economy like a glorified upshift light? In any event, it seems a bit like teats on a bull for a PDK equipped car.....

My car was at the factory getting an oil change new windshield and fender liners and reset oil interval with 6000 miles and again at US dealer with 10000 miles.

Pretty sure they have all they need to be sure it's being used as intended
I would like it because it's not easy to hit 8600-8800 in lower gears when you're on a flyer.
But I wasn't going to reflash the ECU with 911R software just to experiment.

OP's friends troll pics are fishey.

Quite like the idea as I often hit the limiter, especially when there are corners in quick succession. To my ears the RS rev limit has been artificially low, so it's harder to hear when it's peaking. Have it on the race cars, so why not in the GT?
